Graddiodd o raglen radd integredig y Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol a Nyrsio ym Mhrifysgol Caeredin. Ar ôl cymhwyso, cefais brofiad clinigol mewn lleoliadau gofal dwys, hosbis ac oncoleg acíwt; gan gynnwys hyfforddiant oncoleg arbenigol yn Ysbyty Brenhinol Marsden yn Llundain yn yr 1980au.

Yna treuliais bum mlynedd mewn dwy rôl Nyrs Tâl. Roedd y cyntaf, yn Ysbyty Brenhinol Caeredin, yn y gwasanaeth Iechyd Rhywiol ar anterth yr argyfwng HIV ar ddiwedd yr 1980au. Yna dychwelais i Oncology yn Ysbyty Cyffredinol y Gorllewin yng Nghaeredin i reoli uned cemotherapi a oedd yn arbenigo mewn triniaethau dos uchel/treial, gan gynnwys triniaeth oedolion ifanc. Cwblheais yr MSc (Ymarfer Uwch, Nyrsio Canser) ym Mhrifysgol Surrey yn ystod y cyfnod hwn.

Yna symudais i addysg fel Darlithydd mewn Nyrsio Canser yn Ysbyty Brenhinol Marsden/Sefydliad Ymchwil Canser a chyfrannodd at ddatblygu rhaglenni gradd canser a gofal lliniarol arloesol am sawl blwyddyn.

Ym 1998 cefais fy mhenodi'n Uwch Nyrs (Ymchwil a Datblygu) yn Ysbytai Coleg y Brifysgol a chwblhau PhD rhan-amser mewn Cymdeithaseg yn Goldsmiths, Prifysgol Llundain yn 2002. Astudiaeth ethnograffig o ddynion oedd yn cael triniaeth ar gyfer canser y prostad oedd hon.

Am dair blynedd roeddwn yn Uwch Gymrawd Ymchwil yn gweithio rhwng Ysbytai UCL a Phrifysgol City, Llundain. Yna cefais fy mhenodi'n Ddarllenydd mewn Nyrsio Canser ym Mhrifysgol Middlesex yn 2005 gyda dyrchafiad wedyn i Athro Nyrsio a Gofal Canser.

Ymunais â Phrifysgol Caerdydd yn 2011 fel Cadeirydd Ymchwil Nyrsio y Coleg Brenhinol Nyrsio .
