Ymunodd Dr Yiannis Kouropalatis ag Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ym mis Medi 2008 fel darlithydd mewn marchnata a strategaeth. Cyn y penodiad hwn ac ers mis Hydref 2005, cafodd ei gyflogi gan Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd fel cydymaith ymchwil ac yn fwy diweddar fel darlithydd mewn marchnata gan Brifysgol Surrey.
Mae profiad academaidd Yiannis yn dilyn ac yn adeiladu ar ei yrfa ymgynghori rheoli rhyngwladol blaenorol. Mae wedi gweithio mewn amgylcheddau rhyngwladol gan gynnwys dros 4 blynedd fel ymgynghorydd rheoli ar gyfer PA Consulting Group (UK), Logica UK Ltd a KANTOR Management Consultants (Athens – Gwlad Groeg). Fel rhan o'i ymrwymiadau ymgynghori rheoli, arweiniodd brosiectau datblygu strategol lefel bwrdd, newid a throsi ar gyfer cwmnïau rhyngwladol mawr yn y DU, Gwlad Groeg, Ffrainc a'r Balcanau.
Mae ei bortffolio ymgynghori yn cynnwys cleientiaid fel BP (datblygu strategaeth TG), AstraZeneca (rhagweld adnoddau Byd-eang), Eurobank (datblygu TG Strategol yn y Balcanau), UBS (strategaeth adleoli bancio preifat ar-lein), COLT Telecoms (rheoli rhwydwaith Ewropeaidd), ac ati. Cyn ei benodiad ymgynghori â rheolwyr ac ar ôl iddo raddio o Brifysgol Sussex, cafodd brofiad diwydiannol yn y diwydiant dylunio a chynhyrchu microelectroneg (3 blynedd) cyn symud i'r sector ymgynghori Strategaeth.
Mae gan Yiannis PhD (2010) o Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd, BEng (1996), PhD (2000) o Brifysgol Sussex yn ogystal ag MBA (2002) o ALBA (Labordy Gweinyddu Busnes Athen). Mae ei weithgareddau ymchwil cyfredol yn cynnwys prosiectau ym meysydd strategaeth sy'n seiliedig ar weledigaeth ymylol, rhesymu cystadleuol strategol, canfyddiad sefydliadol, arloesedd strategol a rhagflaenwyr cyfeiriadedd strategol.
