Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu strategaethau therapiwtig newydd i drin canserau ymosodol, anodd eu trin.
Yn y DU, bydd tua 1 o bob 8 dyn yn datblygu canser y prostad yn ystod eu hoes. Bydd cyfran uchel o'r dynion hyn yn cyflwyno clefyd lleol ac yn byw allan o'u canser heb yr angen am therapi ymledol, ond i'r rhai sydd â chanser y prostad cyfnod hwyr sydd wedi lledaenu y tu hwnt i'r prostad mae'r prognosis yn wael ac nid yw'r clefyd bellach yn welladwy.
Trwy fy ngwaith rwy'n gobeithio gwella ein dealltwriaeth o ganser y prostad cam hwyr a datblygu therapïau newydd wedi'u targedu y gellir eu defnyddio yn y clinig ryw ddydd i wella rhagolygon ar gyfer dynion â'r clefyd hwn.
