Overview

Dr. Anna Fochi was a Visiting Teacher (an Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lettore di ruolo) in Italian Studies in the School from 2009 to 2014. She also actively lectured at the Master in Translation Studies. Dr. Fochi, who graduated at Pisa University, IT, with a thesis on Ungaretti’s translation of Shakespeare’s Sonnets, completed her Ph.D. in Translation Studies at Glasgow University, UK.

Dr. Fochi has a strong record of research and publication in both Italian (Iter, Italianistica, Lingua e letterature) and international journals (InTRAlinea, Translation Studies, New Readings) as well as contributing chapters to books, she has also edited and translated an anthology of John Keats’ letters.

Dr. Fochi present interests include political and cultural dimensions in both interlingual and intersemiotic translation (focus on both literary and popular translation, and its relation with cinema, visual arts and music).
