Overview
Mark Hill is head of Pump Court Chambers' Personal Injury Team and contributes to its Newsletter and Seminar Programme. He is a regular presenter on Personal Injury and Civil Procedure matters for LiPSLEGAL CPD web seminars for solicitors.
Mark is Honorary Professor of Law at Cardiff Law School and works closely with the Centre for Law and Religion. He is one a team of editors working on the Third Edition of Jowitt's Dictionary of English Law to be published by Sweet and Maxwell in 2010.
Mark was appointed Queen's Counsel in March 2009, having been in practice in Pump Court Chambers since being called to the Bar in 1987. He developed a broad common law practice over twenty years with a particular emphasis on civil litigation and an acknowledged expertise in ecclesiastical law.
He has been retained in proceedings in the European Court of Human Rights, the House of Lords, and the Court of Appeal as well as appearing regularly in the High Court and County Courts. Mark is a member of the Personal Injury Bar Association, the Professional Negligence Bar Association, and the Human Rights Lawyers Association. He sits as a Recorder on the Midland Circuit in both Civil and Crime, and as a judge in the Ecclesiastical Courts of the Church of England.
