Overview

I am currently working on the QUEST experiment that uses twin table-top interferometers to search for quantum gravity phenomena. My work specifically is on the implementation of squeezed states of light in the experiment. Squeezing is an exciting technique utilising quantum optics that allows us to exceed the Heisenberg uncertainty limit on one quadrature of light at the expense of the uncertainty on the orthogonal quadrature. Using this method we will be able to push the sensitivity of our interferometers further than ever!

I am also involved in many other areas of the experiment including: optical table design, interferometer controls, analogue electronics and digital signal processing.
