Overview

I am a chartered physiotherapist with a research interest in developing interventions to enhance self-management of musculoskeletal conditions.

 I did my professional physiotherapy training in Sri Lanka and graduated in 2011 from the University of Colombo. I am also a commonwealth scholar and received a full commonwealth scholarship to successfully complete my MSc in Advanced Neuro-musculoskeletal Physiotherapy in 2016/17 from Kings College London. In 2017 I received a PhD studentship from Cardiff University Biomechanics and bioengineering centre, Versus Arthritis to enrol in my PhD study programme.

I joined the teaching staff of General Sir John Kotelwala Defence University, Sri Lanka in 2013 as a junior academic and currently on my study leave. Prior to that, I worked as a demonstrator at the Department of Physiotherapy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo since 2011.

I am also a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Charted Physiotherapists (MACP) and a member of Society for Back Pain Research (SBPR), UK.
