Overview

Shan Shan is an engaging, committed and creative Lecturer and Researcher with expertise in Low-Carbon Technology, Whole House Systems-Based Retrofits and Life Cycle Analysis, a passion for teaching, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of developing and delivering highly effective educational programmes, materials and assessments for undergraduates, postgraduates, PhD candidates, professionals and KS2-KS4 pupils.

Shan Shan has extensive experience in low-carbon design practice as a building energy consultant on a wide range of projects since 2007. Specific examples include Parkview Green in Beijing (Integrated Design Associates), Brickell Citicentre in Miami (ARQUITECTONICA), IC hotel in Davos (Baulink AG and OIKIOS GmbH), Kunsthaus in Zurich (David Chipperfield Architects), to name but a few.

Qualifications:

·  PhD in Low Carbon Design, Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University, UK                                                

- Thesis: An investigation into the development of low carbon design training programmes

·  MSc in Environmental Design of Buildings (distinction), Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University  

- Dissertation: A Critical Review of Sustainable Design in Great Britain

·  BArch in Architectural Design, School of Architecture, Chang’an University, China                                  

·  FHEA: Fellow of the Higher Education Academy

·  Green Building Practices Accreditation:

- Licensed SAP assessor

- BREEAM assessor for International New Construction

- LEED AP for Building Design
