Mae Robin Attfield yn Athro Emeritws mewn Athroniaeth (ENCAP) a hefyd o'r Sefydliad Ymchwil Lleoedd Cynaliadwy. Bu'n dysgu ac ymchwilio i feysydd athroniaeth gan gynnwys moeseg, athroniaeth crefydd, hanes athroniaeth ac athroniaeth amgylcheddol rhwng 1968 a 2009, ac mae'n parhau i weithio yn y meysydd hyn. Mae'n awdur neu'n olygydd 15 o lyfrau a thros 250 o erthyglau a phenodau. Ei lyfr diweddaraf yw 'Environmental Ethics: A Very Short Introduction', a gyhoeddwyd gan Oxford University Press yn 2018. Ei lyfr blaenorol oedd 'Wonder, Value and God', a gyhoeddwyd i ddechrau gan Ashgate yn 2016, ac sydd bellach yn cael ei farchnata gan Routledge. Robin Attfield's research concerns ethics, philosophy of religion, history of ideas and environmental philosophy.

One recently published book is Creation, Evolution and Meaning, an interdisciplinary work bestriding the philosophies of religion, science and meaning and environmental ethics, published by Ashgate in 2006. 
His previous book was Environmental Ethics: An Overview for the Twenty-First Century(Polity/Blackwell, 2003). His edited collection The Ethics of the Environment was published by Ashgate in 2008.

Bywgraffiad

Astudiodd Robin athroniaeth, clasuron a hanes hynafol yn Eglwys Crist, Rhydychen a Diwinyddiaeth yng Ngholeg Regent's Park, Rhydychen, ac ymgymerodd ag ymchwil ym Mhrifysgol Manceinion, ac mae wedi bod yn darlithio mewn Athroniaeth yng Nghaerdydd ers Ionawr 1968. Mae hefyd wedi dysgu yn Nigeria (1972-3) ac yn Kenya (1975). Cwblhawyd ei PhD yng Nghymru yn 1972, ac mae wedi bod yn Athro Athroniaeth o 1992.

Dyfarnwyd ei DLitt gan Brifysgol Caerdydd yn 2008.

Mae'n aelod o Gyngor y Sefydliad Athroniaeth Brenhinol, a hyd yn ddiweddar bu'n aelod cyfetholedig o Bwyllgor Gwaith Cymdeithas Athronyddol Prydain. Mae'n gadeirydd cangen Caerdydd o'r Sefydliad Athroniaeth Brenhinol, ac mae wedi cymryd rhan yn ddiweddar mewn gweithgor rhyngwladol UNESCO ar Foeseg Amgylcheddol.
