Trosolwyg

Rwy'n Athro Emeritws yn yr Ysgol Cyfrifiadureg a Gwybodeg.

Mae gen i hanes nodedig o ymchwil mewn ystod o feysydd cyfrifiadura gweledol. Roeddwn i'n bennaeth y grŵp ymchwil Cyfrifiadura Gweledol. Roeddwn hefyd yn Athro Gwadd yn Tsinghua a Phrifysgolion eraill yn Tsieina.

Mae fy nghyhoeddiadau'n cynnwys dros 300 o bapurau a 15 llyfr sy'n ymdrin ag ystod o bynciau mewn  golwg gyfrifiadurol, graffeg gyfrifiadurol a chyfrifiadura geometrig.

Rwy'n olygydd cysylltiol 'Computational Visual Media', ac roeddwn ar fyrddau golygyddol 'Computer Aided Design', 'Computer Aided Geometric Design', 'Geometric Models', 'Computers and Graphics', a chyfnodolion eraill.

Yn 2014 dyfarnwyd Gwobr Cyfeillgarwch i mi gan Lywodraeth Tsieina, eu gwobr uchaf i dramorwyr.

Ymchwil

I am head of the School's Visual Computing group. My research interests lie broadly in the area of visual computing. On one hand, this encompasses geometric modelling and processing of curves, surfaces, solids, and meshes, with applications to areas such as CAD / CAM; reverse engineering and sketch input of solid models have been special interests. On the other hand, I am also interested in various topics in computer graphics, computer vision, image processing, and video processing, particularly where geometry is involved.

I currently hold a 5 years EPSRC Travel grant to collaborate on such topics with Tsinghua University on China, and also have many other international collaborators. I am also a co-investogator on various other research projects.

My work on reverse engineering was regarded as having significant impact by the 2014 REF.

Addysgu

I currently teach an MSc module on Programming Paradigms, which conisders different approaches to programming throuigh a variety of programming langugaes, and issues of programming langugae design.

I also supervise undergradduate and MSc projects.
