Dr Jane Moore
BA, MA, PhD (Wales)
Darllenydd Emeritws
- Ar gael fel goruchwyliwr ôl-raddedig
Trosolwyg
Fy maes arbenigedd ymchwil yw Rhamantiaeth Brydeinig ac Iwerddon. Derbyniais fy PhD gan Brifysgol Caerdydd yn 1991 am draethawd ymchwil ar yr awdur ffeministaidd cynnar, Mary Wollstonecraft, ac ers hynny rwyf wedi cyhoeddi dau lyfr a sawl erthygl a thraethawd ar ei gwaith. Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n Ddarllenydd mewn Llenyddiaeth Saesneg yn yr Ysgol Saesneg, Cyfathrebu ac Athroniaeth. Dechreuais fy ngyrfa addysgu yng Ngholeg y Drindod, Dulyn, ac rwyf wedi cynnal sawl darlithfa ymweld mewn prifysgolion yn Ewrop a thramor yn ystod fy nghyfnod yng Nghaerdydd, gan gynnwys Université de Gaulle, Lille III, Prifysgol Potsdam, Prifysgol Ynysoedd y Philipinau, Prifysgol Ateneo de Manila, a Phrifysgol De la Salle, Metro Manila, Pilipinas.
Mae gen i gofnod o ragoriaeth ymchwil ryngwladol mewn llenyddiaeth a Rhamantiaeth ddiwedd y ddeunawfed ganrif, gyda ffocws ar Ramantiaeth Wyddelig, yn benodol gwaith y dychanwr, bardd ac awdur caneuon, Thomas Moore (1779-1852). Fy argraffiad The Satires of Thomas Moore (600tt., 2003) yw'r argraffiad ysgolheigaidd modern cyntaf o'i waith a helpodd i ysbrydoli'r adfywiad presennol o ddiddordeb ym Moore. Yn fwy diweddar, Mae fy ngwaith ar Moore wedi ehangu i gynnwys astudiaethau o'i ysgrifennu a'i gân delynegol yng nghyd-destun Rhamantiaeth Wyddelig. Yn ddiweddar, rwyf wedi cwblhau MS fy monograff, The Surface Romanticism of Thomas Moore: Poetry, Sociability and Song, astudiaeth ryngddisgyblaethol o'r berthynas rhwng barddoniaeth a cherddoriaeth sy'n cynnig cyfrif adolygol o werth esthetig a dewrder gwleidyddol techneg wyneb Moore.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio tuag at gynnig grant sylweddol a ariennir gan y llywodraeth 'Women in Eighteenth-Century Catch and Glee Club Culture in Britain and Ireland', sy'n dwyn ynghyd fy niddordebau mewn caneuon a barddoniaeth boblogaidd genedlaethol. Rwy'n mwynhau meddwl ar draws ffiniau disgyblaethau, fel y tystia fy llyfr a ysgrifennwyd ar y cyd, Cysyniadau Allweddol mewn Llenyddiaeth Ramantaidd (Palgrave Macmillan, 2010), sy'n rhychwantu ehangder hanes, gwleidyddiaeth a diwylliant y cyfnod Rhamantaidd, a chan y cynhyrchiad (gyda'r Athro Duncan Wu, Prifysgol Georgetown, Washington DC, a'r Athro John Strachan, Prifysgol Bath Spa) o adnodd digidol ar-lein newydd, sylweddol iawn, iawn, Adnoddau Hanesyddol Routledge: Rhamantiaeth (2020). https://librarianresources.taylorandfrancis.com/product-info/digital-products/online-resources/romanticism/
Rwyf wedi bod yn ddylanwadol wrth helpu i gyfoethogi proffil Rhamantiaeth yng Nghaerdydd ac roeddwn yn offerynnol, yn 2014, yn sylfaen Seminar Rhamantiaeth a Rhamantiaeth Caerdydd yn y Ddeunawfed Ganrif a Rhamantiaeth (CRECS), sy'n cynnig cymuned ddeallusol gydlynol, ddeinamig, a chroesawgar i fyfyrwyr ac athrawon y ddeunawfed ganrif a Rhamantiaeth.
Rwy'n eistedd ar Lywodraeth tri chorff dyfarnu grantiau mawr Iwerddon, rwy'n ymddiriedolwr Cymdeithas Cig Oen Charles ac yn gwasanaethu ar fwrdd golygyddol Bwletin Cig Oen Charles. Rwy'n aelod o Gymdeithas Astudiaethau Rhamantaidd Prydain ac wedi gwasanaethu ar Fwrdd Gweithredol BARS fel Trysorydd ac Ysgrifennydd Aelodaeth o 2013-19. Rwyf wedi gwasanaethu o'r blaen ar Grŵp Rheoli AHRC-SWWDTP ac rwy'n awyddus i meithrin gyrfaoedd myfyrwyr PhD, ar ôl goruchwylio llawer o PhD a ariennir yn allanol i gwblhau yn llwyddiannus.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n Gadeirydd ENCAP Cydraddoldeb, Amrywiaeth a Chynhwysiant ac yn arwain cyflwyniad yr Ysgol ar gyfer achrediad Efydd Athena Swan (a ddyfarnwyd ym mis Ionawr 2023). Rwyf wedi ymrwymo i anrhydeddu egwyddorion EDI yn fy addysgu a'm resarch, ac yn fy nghyfraniad ehangach i gymuned y brifysgol.

Yn ddiweddar, rwyf wedi cwblhau MS fy monograff, The Surface Romanticism of Thomas Moore: Poetry, Sociability and Song, astudiaeth ryngddisgyblaethol o'r berthynas rhwng barddoniaeth a cherddoriaeth sy'n cynnig cyfrif adolygol o werth esthetig a dewrder gwleidyddol techneg wyneb Moore. Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio tuag at gynnig grant 'Women in Eighteenth-Century Catch and Glee Club Culture in Britain and Ireland', sy'n dwyn ynghyd fy niddordeb mewn caneuon a barddoniaeth boblogaidd genedlaethol.
Mae Mary Lamb yn faes arall o ddiddordeb ymchwil. Mae gen i ddiddordeb yng ngwaith Lamb fel nodwydd, sy'n destun fy nhraethawd 'Pattern and Romantic Creativity' Charles Lamb Bulletin 163 (2015). Er gwaethaf llofruddio ei mam gyda chyllell gerfio, derbyniodd Lamb lawer o deyrngedau hael gan ddynion llenyddol ei chylch. Mae'r teyrngedau hynny yn ffurfio testun fy nhraethawd diweddar, 'Mary Lamb and the Men' (Charles Lamb Bulletin, 176 (2022). a fy mhapur ar gyfer Darlith Brithdydd Cig Oen Charles (Chwefror 2020). Diddordebau ymchwil
Fy meysydd o ddiddordeb ymchwil yw Rhamantiaeth Brydeinig ac Iwerddon ac ysgrifennu merched o'r cyfnod Rhamantaidd.
Myfyrwyr ôl-raddedig
Rwy'n croesawu ceisiadau gan ddarpar fyfyrwyr graddedig sydd â diddordeb mewn ymchwilio i unrhyw agwedd ar farddoniaeth a rhyddiaith y cyfnod Rhamantaidd, yn enwedig gwaith Thomas Moore. Rwyf hefyd yn awyddus i glywed gan fyfyrwyr sy'n dymuno gweithio ar ysgrifennu a chrefftwaith menywod yn ystod y cyfnod.
Mae PhD a oruchwyliwyd i'w chwblhau'n llwyddiannus yn cynnwys:
Alastair Dawson, Criss-Crossing the Channel: Trafodaeth Addysg Menywod ym Mhrydain a Ffrainc, 1750-1820
Siriol McAvoy, The Presence of the Past: Medieval Encounters in the Writing of Virginia Woolf and Lynette Roberts
Katie Garner, Avalon Recovered: The Arthurian Legend in British Women's Writing, 1775 - 1834,
