Fy mhrif faes profiad yw ym maes rheoli anafiadau chwaraeon, gyda diddordeb penodol mewn adsefydlu chwaraeon. Mae profiad chwaraeon yn cynnwys gweithio gyda thimau Codi Pwysau Cymru a Phrydain, rygbi'r Undeb proffesiynol, Gemau Olympaidd a Gemau'r Gymanwlad. Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n darparu cymorth ymgynghori i Gymdeithas Chwaraewyr Rygbi Cymru a Chymdeithas Cyffwrdd Cymru. Rwy'n aelod o'r Bwrdd ar Gyngor Gwrth-Dopio a Gemau'r Gymanwlad y DU. Ymchwil
Cwblheais fy PhD ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ar heriau ymdopi swyddogaethol mewn diffyg ACL. Mae ymchwil ôl-ddoethurol wedi canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu mesurau canlyniad a dilyniant yn dilyn anaf cyhyrysgerbydol a chwaraeon, gan geisio datblygu mesurau hygyrch yn glinigol wedi'u dilysu yn erbyn offer labordy. Mae hyn wedi cynnwys dadansoddiad biomecanyddol o gamweithrediad aelodau isaf.
Mae goblygiadau rheoli echddygol anaf cyhyrysgerbydol a strategaethau dysgu modur dilynol mewn adsefydlu chwaraeon swyddogaethol hefyd wedi bod yn faes o ddiddordeb penodol trwy oruchwyliaeth myfyrwyr a phrosiectau ymchwil bach annibynnol. Mae hyn wedi cynnwys effaith cyflyrau fel ansefydlogrwydd ffêr swyddogaethol neu ddiffyg ACL yn ogystal â blinder ôl-ymarfer corff neu becynnau iâ ar ffactorau fel pŵer amsugno, amseroedd cychwyn cyhyrau, cyflymder onglog ar y cyd ac amser a gymerir i sefydlogi yn ogystal â chywirdeb wrth berfformio tasgau medrus. Rwyf hefyd yn ymwneud â nifer o brosiectau ymchwil sy'n ymchwilio i rwystrau a hwyluswyr i ymarfer corff, yn enwedig mewn poblogaethau â chyd-morbidrwydd, yn ogystal â hwyluso datblygiad proffesiynol tuag at ymarfer arbenigol mewn ffisiotherapi chwaraeon ac ymarfer corff.
Addysgu
Cyn ymddeol, roeddwn yn Rheolwr Rhaglen ar gyfer yr MSc Ffisiotherapi Chwaraeon ac Ymarfer Corff, hefyd yn addysgu ar draws y modiwlau pwnc penodol ac yn goruchwylio ymchwil PGT a PGR yn y maes hwn. Rwy'n parhau i fewnbwn mewn sesiynau addysgu dethol yn fy maes arbenigol.
Rwy'n addysgu amrywiaeth o weithdai, seminarau a phrif ddarlithoedd yn genedlaethol ac yn rhyngwladol. Mae'r rhain yn ymwneud yn bennaf ag adsefydlu swyddogaethol mewn chwaraeon, gyda phwyslais penodol ar fewnforio llwytho gorau posibl.
Bywgraffiad
Gweithiais fel clinigydd am 16 mlynedd cyn ymuno â'r staff academaidd yn Ysgol Astudiaethau Gofal Iechyd Prifysgol Caerdydd. Cwblheais MSc mewn Anafiadau Chwaraeon a Therapi ym Mhrifysgol Fetropolitan Manceinion ym 1996 a PhD mewn ymdopi swyddogaethol mewn diffyg ACL yn 2004. Roeddwn i'n Rheolwr Rhaglen MSc Ffisiotherapi Chwaraeon ac Ymarfer Corff cyn fy ymddeoliad o'r brifysgol. Rwy'n parhau i fod yn rhan o rywfaint o addysgu, goruchwylio ac ystod o weithgareddau ymgysylltu â myfyrwyr sy'n gysylltiedig â ffisiotherapi chwaraeon.
Rwyf wedi teithio gyda thimau Cymru a Phrydain i Gemau Mawr, gan gynnwys y Gymanwlad a'r Gemau Olympaidd, gyda fy ngwaith ym maes chwaraeon yn fwy diweddar yn datblygu i leaership cyffredinol. Roeddwn i'n Chef de Mission ar gyfer Tîm Cymru yng Ngemau'r Gymanwlad Gold Coast 2018 a Birmingham 2022.
