Mae Adam yn Uwch Glerc yn Swyddfa Biliau Cyhoeddus Tŷ'r Cyffredin ac yn Glerc y Cydbwyllgor ar Offerynnau Statudol a Phapur ar Offerynnau Statudol. Mae hefyd yn Ysgrifennydd Ymddiriedolaeth Hanes y Senedd.

Mae Adam wedi gweithio mewn amrywiaeth o swyddi yn Nhŷ'r Cyffredin ers 2015, gan gynnwys bod yn gymhwyster gweithdrefnol proffesiynol blaenllaw'r Senedd (wedi'i achredu gan Brifysgol Dinas San Siôr), clercio'r Pwyllgor Materion Cymreig, a bod yn Ysgrifennydd Dirprwyaeth y DU i Gynulliad Seneddol NATO. Ef hefyd yw Ysgrifennydd Ymddiriedolaeth Hanes y Senedd ar hyn o bryd.
Mae gan Adam berthynas hirsefydlog â Chanolfan Llywodraethiant Cymru a Phrifysgol Caerdydd. Ymunodd â Chanolfan Llywodraethiant Cymru am y tro cyntaf fel ymgeisydd PhD yn 2012 a chwblhaodd ei astudiaethau israddedig ac ôl-raddedig ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Archwiliodd ei PhD Gynhadledd y Llefarydd ar Ddatganoli, 1919-1920 – un o ddau achlysur yn unig lle ystyriwyd llywodraethu tiriogaethol y DU 'yn gyffredinol' gan lunwyr polisi yn San Steffan. Mae gwaith academaidd Adam wedi canolbwyntio ar hanes cyfansoddiadol a datganoli yn y DU yn y DU. Yn flaenorol, mae hefyd wedi cynnal ymchwil ar y Democratiaid Rhyddfrydol fel plaid ffederal yn system plaid y DU, ar ôl datganoli. Mae Adam wedi bod yn Gymrawd Ymchwil er Anrhydedd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ers 2015.
