Ffisioleg a mesuriadau poen:
Rwyf wedi cael fy hyfforddi i ddefnyddio a dehongli Profion Synhwyraidd Meintiol ac rwyf wedi defnyddio'r dull hwn mewn gwirfoddolwyr iach a grwpiau cleifion. Mae fy mhrosiect presennol yn cynnwys cydweithio â'r Ysgol Peirianneg i ddatblygu ac awtomeiddio fy dyfais poen prototeip sy'n mesur allodynia mecanyddol.
Clinigol: Roeddwn yn Gyd-ymchwilydd mewn astudiaeth poen niwroddelweddu clinigol yn asesu effaith Tofacitinib (atalydd JAK-SAT) ar brosesu poen mewn arthritis gwynegol. Mae cytocinau wedi'u cysylltu â phathoffisioleg prosesu poen annormal. Gall ataliad effeithiol sytocinau arwain at adfer prosesu poen yn gyflym a lleihau poen yn fwy sylweddol yn ogystal â symptomau eraill. Fodd bynnag, nid yw mecanweithiau niwral penodol o boen ac ymateb i driniaethau biolegol yn hysbys o hyd. Gan gymhwyso technegau torri blaen delweddu'r ymennydd gwnaethom gasglu data peilot.
Ymchwil cyffuriau: Trwy broses o archwilio clinigol, ymchwil a chyhoeddiadau rwyf wedi arwain yn llwyddiannus y gwaith o ddatblygu marchnad ar gyfer 'cynnyrch arbennig': hufen Gabapentin cyfoes, a weithgynhyrchir mewn uned fferyllol leol y GIG. Mae fy ngrŵp wedi dilysu'r fformiwleiddiad presennol ac wedi trademarked y cynnyrch; Gabagel.
Niwrowyddoniaeth: Mae poen yn ffenomen bio-seicogymdeithasol gymhleth sy'n cynnwys mecanweithiau ymylol a chanolog. Roeddwn yn gymrawd a ariannwyd gan Ymddiriedolaeth Wellcome ar gyfer ffrwd waith tawelyddu ffarmacolegol prosiect WTSA gwerthuso mecanweithiau ymennydd tawelydd, gan gynnwys cysylltedd trydanol, metabolaidd a swyddogaethol sy'n sail i GABAergic ac an-GABAergic sedation. Gwnaethom werthuso newidiadau ysgogol a thonig a thonig poen gwres gyda a heb sedation ergig ac opioidergig GABA mewn gwirfoddolwyr gwrywaidd iach. Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn ymchwil drosiadol ymlaen ac i'r gwrthwyneb.
Methodolegol: Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn cefnogi datblygiad niwroddelweddu swyddogaethol ar gyfer cymwysiadau clinigol fel datblygu cyffuriau, archwilio mecanweithiau gweithgaredd cyffuriau gyda tawelydd, ee GABAergic / di-GABAergic ac mewn cyflyrau poen clinigol. Rwyf wedi cyfrannu at ddatblygu dulliau uwch o niwroddelweddu swyddogaethol a strwythurol i nodweddu newidiadau anatomegol a swyddogaethol yn natblygiad marcwyr niwroddelweddu effeithiau cyffuriau.

Rwyf wedi cyd-oruchwylio prosiectau myfyrwyr Peirianneg UG sy'n cynnwys datblygu dyfeisiau meddygol (poen) (cyllid interniaeth LTA) a myfyrwyr meddygol ar leoliadau haf yn datblygu adolygiad llenyddiaeth ar bwnc dyfeisiau poen (Cymdeithas Poen Cymru - Cyllid Corn Hadau-PI)- 2022-2023

Addysgu arbenigol clinigol: Cefais fy mhenodi'n Gynghorydd Rhanbarthol mewn Rheoli Poen i Gymru ar gyfer Coleg Brenhinol yr Anesthetyddion am ddau dymor o 3 blynedd, ac yn aelod o Bwyllgor Hyfforddi Arbenigedd Anaesthesia, yn ogystal â grŵp cynghori Anesthesia Cymru fel cynrychiolydd Meddygaeth Boen. Datblygais yr hyfforddiant strwythuredig mewn Meddygaeth Poen yng Nghymru.
Rwyf wedi cael gwahoddiad i Ddarlithydd mewn nifer o gyrsiau astudio cenedlaethol ar gyfer anesthetyddion yn fwyaf nodedig ar y technegau Hyfforddi yr Hyfforddwyr: Addysgu Grwpiau Bach yng Nghymdeithas Anesthetyddion Prydain Fawr ac Iwerddon.
Rwy'n parhau i ddysgu dull bioseicogymdeithasol integredig o reoli poen a ffisioleg poen i bob lefel o anaesthesia, meddygon teulu a fferylliaeth.
