PhD researcher in the School of Geography and Planning. Recipient of ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership 2022, in collaboration with Cardiff Council, Llamau and the Welsh Refugee Council. This co-designed, participatory project will explore the housing experiences of young refugees at risk of homelessness in Cardiff. The aim is to improve our current understanding of refugee homelessness prevention at the intersection of hostile migration policies, housing and welfare.
Prior Qualifications:
- (2020-2021) MPhil in Sociology (of Marginality and Exclusion) at the University of Cambridge. In collaboration with community members recruited from four organisations providing support for migrants and refugees in England, my research examined how women with 'No Recourse to Public Funds' [NRPF] experience homelessness and housing insecurity in the 'hostile environment'.
