Overview
Ruth Nortey is a postgraduate research student based at Cardiff Business School. She is currently working towards a PhD in Business Studies.
Ruth's PhD explores the disability employment gap in Wales.
Alongside her studies, Ruth is a PGR Tutor, delivering tutorials to undergraduate students at Cardiff Business School.
Ruth has a wealth of experience working within the disability sector in Wales in roles ranging from Activity Coordinator, Tenancy Support Officer and Policy and Research Officer.

Research
Ruth is interested in the power of lived experience to enact positive change for people from marginalised groups within society.
Research areas include; disability studies with a focus on more under-represented groups including disabled people from ethnic minority backgrounds and disabled mothers.
Ruth is also interested in research within the environmental movement that focuses on giving voice to under-represented groups within the movement - disabled people and people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
