Ymchwil
My research hopes to uncover how the relationship between core, semi-periphery and periphery works on an intra-state level and within stateless nations. The relationship between (under)development and the core-periphery paradigm between states is relatively well developed, especially in Dependency and World Systems perspectives. However, this relationship within states, especially those that can be considered multi-national - such as the UK, Spain and Italy - is less advanced. My work will attempt to enrich the conversation surrounding the function of such areas within their respective states, in Europe, and within the global capitalist system more generally.
