Ymunodd Dr Theodoros Arvanitopoulos ag Adran Economeg Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd fel Darlithydd mewn Economeg ym mis Medi 2024. Mae ganddo PhD mewn Economeg Ynni ac Econometreg Gymhwysol o Goleg Prifysgol Llundain (UCL) a gradd meistr mewn Economeg o Brifysgol Nottingham.
Mae ei ymchwil academaidd yn archwilio croestoriad y galw am ynni a'r deinameg cyflenwi, gyda ffocws ar ddeall sut mae twf economaidd ac arloesi technolegol yn cyfrannu at liniaru newid yn yr hinsawdd. I'r nod hwn, mae'n defnyddio econometreg gymhwysol, gan gynnal dadansoddiadau ar lefel macro a micro.
Mae wedi cyhoeddi ei ymchwil mewn Cyfathrebu Natur, Astudiaethau Rhanbarthol, Economeg Ynni, Polisi Ynni, Astudiaethau Trefol, Gwyddoniaeth a Pholisi Amgylcheddol, ymhlith eraill.
Rhwng 2021 a 2024, mae wedi darlithio yn Ysgol Fusnes y Brenin, Coleg y Brenin Llundain, ar Economeg Ynni a Hinsawdd, Mathemateg i Economegwyr, ac Ystadegau ar gyfer Cyfrifeg a Chyllid. Cyn hynny, mae wedi gweithio fel ymchwilydd ôl-ddoethurol yn y Sefydliad Ewropeaidd, Ysgol Economeg a Gwyddor Wleidyddol Llundain (LSE), ac uwch gydymaith ymchwil yng Nghanolfan Tyndall ar gyfer Ymchwil Newid Hinsawdd, Prifysgol East Anglia (UEA).
Mae gan Dr Theodoros Arvanitopoulos brofiad helaeth mewn ymchwil sy'n canolbwyntio ar bolisi, ar ôl arwain prosiectau ymchwil a ariennir gan Ganolfan Ymchwil ar y Cyd y Comisiwn Ewropeaidd a Sefydliad Qatar. Mae wedi cymryd rhan mewn prosiectau ymchwil gyda'r OECD, Adran Busnes, Ynni a Strategaeth Ddiwydiannol y DU, Pwyllgor Newid Hinsawdd y DU, a rhanddeiliaid busnes (e.e. SYSTEMIQ).
