Rwy'n Gydymaith Ymchwil yn yr Ysgol Peirianneg ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, sy'n arbenigo mewn modelu, optimeiddio a dadansoddi systemau ynni. Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar systemau gwresogi ac oeri ardal, storio ynni thermol, a modelu deinamig a chyson rhwydweithiau ynni. Rwy'n defnyddio llwyfannau masnachol a ffynhonnell agored, ynghyd ag offer rhaglennu uwch, i ddatblygu modelau cywir a gwneud y gorau o ddyluniad a gweithrediad y systemau hyn.
Mae gennyf radd BSc mewn Peirianneg Mecatronig o'r Sefydliad Polytechnig Cenedlaethol, Dinas Mecsico (2002), M.Sc. mewn Peirianneg o Sefydliad Technoleg ac Addysg Uwch Monterrey, Dinas Mecsico (2011), a PhD mewn Peirianneg Drydanol ac Electronig o Brifysgol Caerdydd (2021). Gyda chefndir cryf mewn ymchwil academaidd a chymwysiadau ymarferol, rwyf wedi ymrwymo i hyrwyddo atebion ynni cynaliadwy trwy dechnegau modelu ac optimeiddio arloesol.

Rhwng 2005 a 2015, bu'n gweithio yn adrannau peirianneg cwmnïau fferyllol, gan arbenigo mewn graddnodi synwyryddion labordy cynhyrchu ac ansawdd, yn ogystal â rheoli gwasanaethau allanol ar gyfer cynnal systemau mesur critigol mewn gweithfeydd cynhyrchu. Yn 2016, dyfarnwyd ysgoloriaeth iddo ddilyn ei Ph.D. ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, lle cwblhaodd ei astudiaethau doethurol yn 2021. Roedd ei draethawd ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar fodelu deinamig systemau gwresogi ac oeri ardal.
Rhwng 2021 a 2023, bu Hector yn gweithio fel Cynorthwyydd Ymchwil yn y Ganolfan Cynhyrchu a Chyflenwi Ynni Adnewyddadwy Integredig (CIREGS) ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, gan gefnogi gweithgareddau addysgu a phrosiectau Partneriaeth Trosglwyddo Gwybodaeth (KTP). Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, parhaodd i ddatblygu modelau deinamig o systemau storio ynni thermol a thechnegau deallusrwydd artiffisial integredig ar gyfer amcangyfrif cyflwr gwefr y systemau hyn.
Rhwng 2023 a 2024, roedd Hector yn Gymrawd Ymchwilydd ym Mhrifysgol Birmingham, gan weithio yn y grŵp Optimeiddio a Dylunio Aml-raddfa ar gyfer Storio Ynni (MODES) yng Nghanolfan Birmingham ar gyfer Storio Ynni. Yno, cyfrannodd at brosiectau Ewropeaidd sy'n canolbwyntio ar ddylunio dyfeisiau storio ynni thermol gan ddefnyddio deunyddiau newid cam ar gyfer cymwysiadau gwresogi ac oeri.
Mae diddordebau ymchwil Hector yn cynnwys modelu deinamig a chyson systemau ynni, yn enwedig agweddau thermol systemau gwresogi ac oeri ardal, yn ogystal ag integreiddio unedau storio ynni thermol ar gyfer cymwysiadau tymhorol a dyddiol. Mae ganddo ddiddordeb hefyd mewn cymhwyso systemau rheoli i optimeiddio systemau ynni.
