Dr. Elisa Bertolesi ydw i, Uwch Ddarlithydd mewn Peirianneg Sifil ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Gyda Ph.D. o Politecnico di Milano (yr Eidal), mae fy ymchwil yn ymestyn y tu hwnt i fframweithiau damcaniaethol, gyda chymwysiadau ymarferol yn cyfrannu at nodi risgiau cwympo oherwydd blinder ac asesu cadernid strwythurau. Mae fy ymchwil, a gydnabyddir yn rhyngwladol gyda gwobrau fel Gwobr Prosiect Ôl-raddedig gan y Gymdeithas Cerrig Rhyngwladol, yn canolbwyntio ar sicrhau diogelwch a gwytnwch isadeileddau beirniadol. Rwyf wedi datblygu systemau SHM, gan nodi risgiau cwympo ac asesu cadernid strwythurol. Mae fy ymroddiad yn ymestyn i brosiectau cydweithredol, gan gynnwys y prosiect SCOURSHAKE a ariennir gan yr UE, gan fynd i'r afael â heriau aml-berygl a achosir gan newid yn yr hinsawdd. Rwyf wedi cyhoeddi dros 36 o bapurau mewn cyfnodolion effaith uchel ac rwy'n cymryd rhan weithredol mewn addysgu, rolau gweinyddol, a hyrwyddo amrywiaeth a chynhwysiant yn y byd academaidd. Ar hyn o bryd mae Dr Elisa Bertolesi yn Uwch Ddarlithydd mewn Peirianneg Sifil ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, lle mae'n arwain grŵp ymchwil deinamig gyda phwyslais cryf ar ymchwil doethurol. Enillodd ei PhD gydag Anrhydedd mewn Pensaernïaeth, Amgylchedd Adeiledig a Pheirianneg Adeiladu o'r Politecnico di Milano (yr Eidal). Mae ffocws ymchwil Dr. Bertolesi yn gorwedd wrth ddatblygu strategaethau Monitro Iechyd Strwythurol (SHM), yn enwedig gan ddefnyddio technolegau ffibr optig ar gyfer monitro pontydd rheilffordd dur rhybed. Mae ei gwaith wedi cyfrannu at nodi risgiau posibl cwymp oherwydd blinder o gyfeintiau traffig cynyddol ac asesu cadernid y strwythurau hyn yn wyneb difrod cynyddol. Mae ei chyflawniadau yn cynnwys cydnabyddiaeth ryngwladol am ei thraethawd PhD, a dderbyniodd Wobr Prosiect Ôl-raddedig gan Gymdeithas y Seiri Maen Rhyngwladol yn Llundain, y DU. Mae Dr. Bertolesi wedi cydweithio â phrifysgolion amrywiol yn y DU a thramor, yn ogystal â chwmnïau, gan arwain at nifer o gyhoeddiadau mewn cyfnodolion rhyngwladol. Gyda dros 36 o bapurau wedi'u cyhoeddi mewn cyfnodolion gwyddonol a adolygir gan gymheiriaid, mae proffil academaidd Dr. Bertolesi yn adlewyrchu lefel uchel o weithgaredd rhyngwladol. Mae hi'n Gymrawd yr Academi Addysg Uwch (FHEA) yn y DU ac yn aelod o Sefydliad y Peirianwyr Sifil (DU), CEng, MICE. Dr. Bertolesi yn gweithredu fel adolygydd cymheiriaid ar gyfer 17 cyfnodolion ffactor effaith uchel ac mae'n aelod o fyrddau golygyddol ar gyfer cyfnodolion amlwg yn ei maes. Y tu hwnt i'w gweithgareddau academaidd, Dr. Bertolesi yn cymryd rhan weithredol mewn divulgation gwyddonol, cymryd rhan mewn seminarau a digwyddiadau yn fyd-eang. Mae ei detholiad diweddar i gymryd rhan yn y Nodau Datblygu Cynaliadwy Byd-eang (SDGs) mewn Her Myfyrwyr Gweithredu ym Mhrifysgol Efrog (Canada) yn dangos ei hymrwymiad i gydweithio byd-eang a mynd i'r afael â heriau trwy lens amlddisgyblaethol.

Mae'r fenter yn canolbwyntio ar wella cyfleoedd dysgu byd-eang, yn enwedig i fyfyrwyr o gefndiroedd amrywiol fel Indigenous, Du, Pobl Lliw, y rhai sydd ag incwm isel, neu fyfyrwyr sy'n byw gydag anableddau. Mae'n pwysleisio anfon myfyrwyr i wledydd cyrchfan anhraddodiadol yn Asia, America Ladin ac Affrica. Mae'r profiad hwn yn ehangu dealltwriaeth myfyrwyr o Nodau Datblygu Cynaliadwy'r Cenhedloedd Unedig 2030 ac yn rhoi llwyfan iddynt gyfrannu at y nodau hyn waeth beth fo'u maes astudio.
