In 2008 I joined the Cardiff Postgraduate training Programme in Dental Implantology, headed by Prof. David Thomas. This takes post-graduate students on a part time and full time basis for a diploma level or full-time Masters Programme in Dental Implantology. A program of formal lectures and a clinical training allowed dental practitioners to undertake vovcational qualifications and training around busy clinical lifes, to date we have trained >100 individuals. In the group, I am proud to work with talented collegues, Lecturers Rob Adams and Nick Claydon and Prof. Claydon, delivering a course of value to students, In 2014 we welcomed 10 students to the Programme. Additionally and in conjuction with the team we developed a 2 day hands-on clinical course outlining The managmet of Soft tissues in dental implantology. This complements a similar hands on course for bone grafting. These courses have been well recieved and supported for a number of years. My main clinical interest is in clinical dental implantology, bone- and soft-tissue grafting and the restoration of complex restorative cases utilising dental implant therapy.
