Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn cwmpasu'r digwyddiadau cellog a moleciwlaidd sy'n ymwneud â mecano-reoleiddio homeostasis meinwe cartilag articular, y mecanwaith sy'n lluosogi dirywiad ar y cyd wedi'i gyfryngu gan fecanyddol h.y. osteoarthritis a nodi targedau therapiwtig ar gyfer ymyrraeth. Yn fwy penodol, fy niddordebau ymchwil yw:-
- Ymchwilio i fecano-reoleiddio microRNAs mewn cartilag cymalaidd.
- Ymchwilio pam mae osteoarthritis ffêr yn datblygu o ganlyniad i drawma mecanyddol blaenorol yn unig.
- Egluro rôl y cytosgerbwd chondrocyte, yn enwedig y ffilamentau canolradd vimentin (Ffigur 2), wrth synhwyro llwyth mecanyddol, a sut mae'r rhwydweithiau intracellular hyn yn trawsnewid signalau mecanyddol i ymateb biocemegol mewn cartilag cymalog.
- Amlinellu rôl y llwybrau WNT canonaidd ac an-ganonaidd wrth drawsnewid signalau mecanyddol mewn cartilag articular.
