Trosolwyg
Mae Matthew yn Uwch Gymrawd Ymchwil yng Nghanolfan yr Economi Greadigol a Rheolwr Rhaglen Media Cymru . Yn y rôl olaf, mae ganddo gyfrifoldeb cyffredinol am reoli a gweithrediadau o ddydd i ddydd consortiwm 22 partner o gwmnïau ffilm a theledu, darlledwyr, cyrff cyhoeddus, asiantaethau datblygu, a Sefydliadau Addysg Uwch (SAUau). Mae gan Matthew brofiad helaeth o ddatblygu a rheoli prosiectau cydweithredol sy'n cynnwys Sefydliadau Addysg Uwch a sefydliadau o'r diwydiannau creadigol a diwylliannol i gyflawni effeithiau cymdeithasol ac economaidd trawsnewidiol. Fel Uwch Ddatblygwr Bid ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, rheolodd ddatblygiad dwy raglen ymchwil ac arloesi ar raddfa fawr (Media Cymru a Chronfa Her Prifddinas-Ranbarth Caerdydd) gyda chyfanswm gwerth dros £60m.
Mae ymchwil cyfredol Matthew yn archwilio sut mae cynnwys ffilm a theledu yn ymgysylltu â'r argyfwng hinsawdd. Mae'r ymchwil hon wedi'i chysylltu'n agos â phortffolio o brosiectau ymchwil, datblygu ac arloesi a ariennir gan Media Cymru ac ymrwymiad y rhaglen i greu sector cyfryngau gwyrdd a theg.
Mae Matthew hefyd wedi cyhoeddi'n eang ar gynrychiolaeth ddiwylliannol yr Holocost a phenodau eraill o drais hanesyddol. Mae ganddo ddiddordeb arbennig yn y berthynas rhwng technolegau digidol a chof hanesyddol. Cefnogwyd yr ymchwil ar gyfer ei lyfr diweddaraf, Virtual Holocaust Memory (Gwasg Prifysgol Rhydychen, 2023), gan Gymrodoriaeth Arweinyddiaeth AHRC a phrosiect AHRC o'r enw Virtual Holocaust Memoryscapes a oedd yn cynnwys partneriaeth â Safleoedd Coffa Bergen-Belsen a Neuengamme a Thŷ Anne Frank yn Amsterdam.
