Mae Dr Robert Bowen yn academydd Entrepreneuriaeth Ryngwladol yn Ysgol Busnes Caerdydd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, ac yn flaenorol mae wedi dal swyddi academaidd ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe a Phrifysgol Aberystwyth yng Nghymru, a Phrifysgol Nantes yn Ffrainc. Ar hyn o bryd mae ganddo swydd Athro Gwadd yn Ysgol Fusnes Audencia yn Nantes, Ffrainc. Mae Dr Bowen yn cynnal ymchwil i fentrau gwledig, datblygu rhanbarthol, marchnata lleoedd a rhyngwladoli busnesau bach a chanolig, gyda diddordeb cryf mewn busnesau bach a chanolig bwyd a diod. Mae wedi cyhoeddi mewn amryw o gyfnodolion rhyngwladol, ac wedi cyflwyno ei ymchwil yn Senedd Cymru, Tŷ'r Arglwyddi, a'r Comisiwn Ewropeaidd. Ar hyn o bryd mae'n dal swyddi cyd-gadeirydd y trac Menter Wledig yng nghynhadledd flynyddol ISBE (Sefydliad Busnesau Bach ac Entrepreneuriaeth), a Golygydd Rhanbarthau, cyhoeddiad ar-lein o'r Gymdeithas Astudiaethau Rhanbarthol. Mae hefyd yn Gymrawd Uwch o'r Academi Addysg Uwch.
Fy Stori Gwerth Cyhoeddus
Mae Robert yn gweithio'n agos gyda busnesau bach, mewn swydd addysgu ac ymchwil. Mae Robert yn ymgysylltu â busnesau bach mewn ymchwil, yn enwedig mentrau gwledig, gan helpu i gefnogi twf a datblygiad trwy lesiant. Mae enghreifftiau o'r ymchwil hwn wedi'u cynnwys mewn addysgu Entrepreneuriaeth, gydag astudiaethau achos ac enghreifftiau o'i ymchwil ar draws ystod o leoliadau gan gynnwys Cymru, Ffrainc, Malaysia, Brasil a Colombia. Mae Robert hefyd yn chwarae rhan flaenllaw gyda'r Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol o ran sicrhau bod myfyrwyr yn cael y cyfleoedd i astudio Busnes drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg. Mae gan Robert brofiad o ymgysylltu â llunwyr polisi yn llywodraethau Cymru a Phrydain, yn ogystal â'r Comisiwn Ewropeaidd. Ar ben hynny, mae Robert yn cyfrannu'n rheolaidd at drafodaethau yn y cyfryngau ar fusnesau bach ac economi Cymru, gan gynnwys y BBC ac S4C.

Ymchwil
Dr Bowen’s research interests include rural entrepreneurship, regional development, place marketing and SME internationalisation, with a specialisation in the food and drink industry. His PhD conceptualised and examined the internationalisation of food and drink SMEs, drawing on theories of place marketing and internationalisation. He has experience of conducting fieldwork in various countries, including Wales, France, Malaysia, Colombia and Brazil. Dr Bowen has regularly presented research papers at international conferences, including the WISERD (Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods) and ISBE (Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship) conferences, winning Best Paper in the Rural Enterprise track at ISBE in 2018, and Best Paper in the Networks, Innovation and Policy track in 2021. He has also won Best Paper published in Regions in 2021. Dr Bowen has been invited to share his research with the Welsh Government, given evidence to the Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs Committee at the Welsh Assembly, and discussed co-authored work at the House of Lords. In 2019, he was invited to present his research at the European Commission during the annual EU Week of Regions.

Yn ogystal, mae ganddo swydd fel Athro Gwadd yn Ysgol Fusnes Audencia ers 2016, lle mae'n dysgu ar y rhaglenni Rheoli Rhyngwladol a Rheoli Bwyd a Busnes Amaeth.
