Mae Beth wedi bod yn ymchwilydd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ers 2015 ac mae wedi'i lleoli yn y Sefydliad Arloesi Diogelwch, Troseddu a Cudd-wybodaeth (grŵp: Sefydliad Gwyddoniaeth yr Heddlu Prifysgolion). Ei phrif feysydd o ddiddordeb yw eithafiaeth, terfysgaeth, plismona a rheolaeth gymdeithasol.
Roedd ymchwil PhD Beth yn archwilio atal eithafiaeth, gan ganolbwyntio ar ymyriadau cynnar i bobl ifanc yng Nghymru. Yn ogystal â darganfod bod pryderon 'eithafiaeth' wedi newid yn ystod y blynyddoedd diwethaf, tynnodd yr ymchwil sylw at nifer o heriau y mae hyn yn eu creu i'r rhai sy'n ceisio ei atal, gan gynnwys mewn ysgolion, gwaith ieuenctid a sefydliadau'r heddlu.
Mae ymchwil flaenorol Beth yn cynnwys gwerthusiad o'r defnydd gan Heddlu De Cymru o dechnoleg adnabod wynebau. Arweiniodd ar waith maes ac adroddiad y prosiect, a ddyfynnwyd gan ddyfarniad yr Uchel Lys yn 2019.
Mae ei phrosiectau presennol yn canolbwyntio ar ddatganu, plismona a bregusrwydd. Mae Beth yn rhan o'r tîm sy'n datblygu Storfa Diogelu Cymru (a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru).
