Cymhwysodd Catherine fel Nyrs Gofrestredig yn 1998 a dechreuodd ei gyrfa mewn nyrsio cardio-thorasig yn Ysbyty Harefield lle bu'n gweithio mewn amrywiaeth o leoliadau meddygol a llawfeddygol. Tra yn Harefield, enillodd ei MSc mewn nyrsio cardio-thorasig o Goleg Imperial Llundain. Ar ôl symud i Gaerdydd yn 2005 sefydlodd Glinig Poen y Gist Mynediad Cyflym yn Ysbyty Athrofaol Cymru. Ar ôl cwblhau'r Rhagnodi Annibynnol Rhedodd y clinig dan arweiniad nyrsys tan fis Medi 2009 pan ddechreuodd ei hastudiaethau PhD.
Ar ôl cwblhau ei PhD dechreuodd weithio fel darlithydd yn Ysgol y Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd, gyda ffocws penodol ar fodiwlau clinigol ôl-raddedig, yn enwedig asesu corfforol a rhagnodi annibynnol. Mae Catherine wedi goruchwylio un myfyriwr Doethuriaeth Proffesiynol ac un myfyriwr PhD i'w chwblhau, gydag eraill wedi cofrestru ar raglenni PhD ar hyn o bryd.
