Cymrawd Ymchwil
Trosolwyg
Rwy'n Gymrawd Ymchwil yn Ysgol Peirianneg Prifysgol Caerdydd, yn arbenigo mewn gwyddor aerosol ac allyriadau hedfan. Mae fy ngwaith yn canolbwyntio ar fesur rheoleiddio mater gronynnol anweddol (nvPM) o beiriannau awyrennau, lle rwy'n gwasanaethu fel gweithredwr cymeradwyedig gan EASA o'r System Cyfeirio nvPM a Nwyol Ewropeaidd. Rwyf wedi cefnogi sawl ymgyrch ardystio injan tyrbin nwy gyda Rolls-Royce (y DU a'r Almaen) a Safran, yn ogystal â phrofion rig hylosgi a maes ledled Ewrop.
Ochr yn ochr â'r gweithgareddau hyn, rwy'n arwain timau technegol o fewn pwyllgor safonau rhyngwladol SAE E31 ac yn cyfrannu'n uniongyrchol at y Sefydliad Hedfan Sifil Rhyngwladol (ICAO), lle mae fy ymchwil yn llywio datblygu rheoliadau allyriadau byd-eang. Rwyf wedi awdur a chyd-awdur cyhoeddiadau effaith uchel ar allyriadau gronynnau awyrennau ac effeithiau tanwydd hedfan cynaliadwy, ac rwy'n cael fy ngwahodd yn rheolaidd i adolygu ar gyfer cyfnodolion blaenllaw mewn gwyddoniaeth aerosol.
Mae fy rôl hefyd yn ymestyn i gyfrannu at brosiectau ymchwil cydweithredol mawr (gan gynnwys H2020 yr UE UNIC, AVIATOR, RAPTOR, SAMPLE ac UKRI GRIM-SAF), goruchwylio myfyrwyr PhD ac MSc, a hyfforddi cydweithwyr mewn systemau mesur aerosol uwch. Rwyf hefyd yn rheoli seilwaith arbenigol ar gyfer profi allyriadau ac ymchwil aerosol sy'n gysylltiedig ag iechyd yng Nghaerdydd.
Wrth wraidd fy ymchwil mae diddordeb mewn deall allyriadau awyrennau yn well i helpu i liniaru eu heffeithiau negyddol ar yr amgylchedd ac iechyd pobl.
