Trosolwyg
Cemegydd organig yw Dr Elliott, sy'n arbenigo mewn datblygu a chyflwyno cyrsiau cemeg organig. Ers 2022 mae wedi bod yn Gyfarwyddwr Astudiaethau Israddedigion ar gyfer yr Ysgol Cemeg. Yn 2023 fe'i penodwyd yn Uwch Gymrawd yr Academi Addysg Uwch (SFHEA) ac yn Uwch Gymrawd Addysg Prifysgol Caerdydd.
Cyn hyn, arweiniodd grŵp ymchwil yn ymgymryd ag ymchwil sylfaenol i agweddau ar gemeg heterocyclaidd ystrydebol. Roedd hyn yn cynnwys datblygu dulliau stereoselective ar gyfer dirymu oxazolines, thiazolines a pyrrolidines. Datblygwyd dulliau ar gyfer dadmetreiddio hynod ystrydebol cyclohexa-1,4-dienes, gan roi cynhyrchion cymhleth sy'n cynnwys canolfannau stereogenig cwaternaidd. Mae Dr Elliott hefyd wedi cynnal astudiaethau cyfrifiadurol ar nifer o adweithiau organig, yn fwyaf nodedig adweithiau ad-drefnu organoborates.
Dr Elliott yw awdur 'How to Succeed in Organic Chemistry', a gyhoeddwyd yn 2020 gan Oxford University Press, ac o 'Building Skills in Organic Chemistry', 2023.
