Rwy'n anthropolegydd deintyddol a bioarchaeolegydd, yn astudio gweddillion dynol gan ddefnyddio dulliau macrosgopig a moleciwlaidd. Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio'n eang ar symudedd, diet, a ffyrdd bywyd yn y gorffennol. Mae gen i ddiddordeb hefyd mewn astudiaethau methodolegol, holi a datblygu'r technegau a ddefnyddir ar gyfer dadansoddi gweddillion dynol ac anifeiliaid. Rwyf wedi gweithio ar brosiectau sy'n amrywio o'r cyfnod Neolithig i'r cyfnod Ôl-ganoloesol. Ymhlith y themâu penodol mae gen i ddiddordeb ynddynt mae:
- Mae cymhwyso dadansoddiad aml-isotop (carbon, nitrogen, sylffwr, ocsigen, strontiwm, plwm) ar olion osseous ar gyfer ymchwilio i ddeiet a symudedd
- Dadansoddiad morffolegol deintyddol (ASUDAS) a metrig ar gyfer ymchwilio i affinedd poblogaeth
- Dadansoddiad osteolegol macrosgopig ar gyfer ymchwilio i fywydau'r gorffennol, gyda diddordeb arbenigol mewn oedran cymdeithasol a biolegol
- Arloesi mewn dadansoddiadau isotopig
Mae prosiectau cyfredol yn cynnwys:
- Poblogaeth Ganoloesol Hwlffordd: Ymchwiliadau Osteolegol ac Isotopig o Ffyrdd Bywyd Cymreig Canoloesol
- Passage Tomb People: Stable Isotope Analysis of Humans and Animals from Neolithic Orkney and Ireland
- Bywyd, Marwolaeth, ac Addoliad yn Nhŵr ei Mawrhydi Llundain: cloddiadau y tu allan i'r Capel Rhyfeddol Brenhinol a Brenhinol Sant Pedr ad Vincula
