I work at the intersection of modern Jewish history and international history, especially in the late 19th through the 20th centuries. I focus particularly on politics, philanthropy/humanitarianism, and gender, across the Jewish Diaspora (America, Europe, and the Mediterranean). I teach modern Jewish history broadly speaking, including my research interests and also on antisemitism, Judaic religious movements, migration, Jewish culture, Zionism, and Jewish thought. My award-winning monograph is International Jewish Humanitarianism in the Age of the Great War (Cambridge University Press, 2021).
