Ymchwil
Mae gen i ddiddordeb hir mewn iechyd meddwl a lles.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio yn Ysgol Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol Prifysgol Caerdydd. Yn fwyaf diweddar, bûm yn gweithio yn y Ganolfan Treialon Clinigol (CTR). Mae prosiectau blaenorol CTR yn cynnwys: PEACH: Procalcitonin: Gwerthuso defnydd gwrthfiotig mewn cleifion ysbyty COVID-19; a'r astudiaeth RESPECT: gwerthusiad realaidd o ragnodi cymdeithasol gyda chredydau amser.
Roeddwn i'n rhan o Crucible GW4 yn 2022 a datblygais brosiect ar y cyd â chydweithwyr yng Nghaerfaddon, Bryste a Chaerdydd i archwilio teimladau a meddyliau pobl awtistig ynghylch y damcaniaethau allweddol ar darddiad awtistiaeth.
Mae prosiectau eraill yn cynnwys ymchwilio i ansawdd bywyd mewn oedolion hŷn (rhan o IDEAL: Gwella Profiad Dementia a Gwella Bywyd Egnïol); y prosiect REACT (ymchwiliad i gydrannau gweithredol ymyrraeth triniaeth arbenigol yn y cartref i atal derbyn cleifion â dementia mewn argyfwng yn yr ysbyty yn y gymuned); a'r astudiaeth gwneud penderfyniadau Nyrs (Gwneud penderfyniadau Nyrsys ynghylch darparu gofal croen i gleifion â chanser datblygedig ar ddiwedd oes).
Roeddwn i'n aelod allweddol o dîm ymchwil astudio WHELM y DU (Gwaith, Iechyd a Bywydau Emosiynol Bydwragedd (WHELM) ar gyfer y Deyrnas Unedig (DU)).
Archwiliodd fy PhD mewn niwrowyddoniaeth wybyddol y berthynas rhwng cwsg, breuddwydio a'r cof. Cefais gefnogaeth i'r theori bod gan freuddwydion swyddogaeth cydgrynhoi cof.
Yn fwy diweddar, rwyf wedi gweithio ar brosiectau ymchwil gyda chleifion â cholled cof sylweddol, e.e. yr astudiaethau IDEAL ac YMATEB.
Rwy'n gweithio'n bennaf mewn dulliau ansoddol. Rwy'n cynnal cyfweliadau ansoddol ac yn datblygu ffyrdd o weithio gyda dulliau creadigol.
Addysgu
I have worked as a lecturer and tutor at FE and HE level in a variety of establishments.
My current contract with Cardiff University is research only, however I am an Associate Lecturer for Open University on two modules teaching Psychology undergraduates.
My PhD was a teaching studentship, during which I taught on four modules: Introduction and Advanced Biological Bases of Psychology; Introduction and Advanced Cognitive Psychology to Swansea University undergraduates. I also facilitated research methods and statistics sessions, marked essays and exam papers and invigilated exams.
I have taught Psychology and IT courses at FE level in colleges in North Wales and South Wales.
Bywgraffiad
Rwyf wedi bod yn gweithio ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ers 2016, ar ôl cwblhau fy PhD ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio fel darlithydd mewn Seicoleg Gymdeithasol yn Ysgol y Gwyddorau Cymdeithasol. Cyn y rôl hon, roeddwn yn Gydymaith Ymchwil yn y Ganolfan Ymchwil Treialon (CTR) fel rhan o'r tîm ansoddol, gan weithio ar brosiectau meddygol a gofal cymdeithasol.
Yn 2019 gweithiais yn Sefydliad Ymchwil Gymdeithasol ac Economaidd, Data a Dulliau Cymru (WISERD) lle canolbwyntiais yn bennaf ar weithio gyda chyfranogwyr CFAS-Wales (Astudiaeth Swyddogaeth Wybyddol a Heneiddio) i ddeall mwy am eu profiadau ac unrhyw newidiadau y gallent sylwi arnynt yn y cof, y meddwl neu'r gallu i reoli bywyd bob dydd wrth iddynt heneiddio. Gwnaethom gyfrannu at y rhaglen IDEAL - Gwella Profiad Dementia a Gwella Bywyd Egnïol.
Astudiais Seicoleg ac Ieithyddiaeth fel myfyriwr israddedig ym Mhrifysgol Bangor, gan raddio yn 1992. Penderfynais barhau yn y byd academaidd a gweithio fel cynorthwyydd ymchwil a thiwtor yn yr adran Seicoleg.
Dysgais Gymraeg yng Ngogledd Cymru. Dw i'n siarad gydag acen y Gog.
Bûm yn gweithio ym myd diwydiant a'r trydydd sector am rai blynyddoedd cyn dychwelyd i'r byd academaidd i astudio ar gyfer fy PhD yn Adran Seicoleg Prifysgol Abertawe, 2008-2014. Archwiliodd fy PhD mewn niwrowyddoniaeth wybyddol y berthynas rhwng cwsg, breuddwydio a'r cof. Cefais gefnogaeth i'r theori bod gan freuddwydion swyddogaeth cydgrynhoi cof.
