Trosolwyg

I am a human geographer with interests in the geographies of ethics and justice; in particular, my research explores and analyses questions and relations of power, social resilience and social practices through a focus on production spaces.  I currently hold a Leverhulme Trust early career fellowship (2014-17) in which I am investigating the capacity of certified Fairtrade to promote resilient and ethical development within, and beyond, its producer communities. This focuses on the wine sector and has involved overseas fieldwork in Argentina, Chile, Germany, Finland, South Africa and Sweden.  I am currently working on a Routledge monograph drawing on elements of this provisionally titled Practising Empowerment in Post-Apartheid South Africa: Wine, Ethics and Development alongside developing research collaborations to further my interests in ethical commodity networks, Fairtrade, food justice and capacity-building development.
