Trosolwyg
Rwy'n Gydymaith Ymchwil yn CASCADE®, y Ganolfan Ymchwil a Datblygu Gofal Cymdeithasol i Blant ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd.
Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn ymwneud â defnyddio data gweinyddol i ddarparu sylfaen dystiolaeth gadarn i lywio polisi ac ymarfer, gyda fy nhraethawd doethurol yn dangos defnyddioldeb defnyddio dulliau Bayesaidd yng nghyd-destun prosesau asesu risg o fewn y system cyfiawnder ieuenctid. Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n derbyn Cymrodoriaeth Ymchwil Gofal Cymdeithasol Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru. Bydd y prosiect yn cysylltu ymatebion o donnau olynol arolwg Lles Myfyrwyr Rhwydweithiau Ymchwil Iechyd Ysgolion a data gweinyddol i wella dealltwriaeth o ymddygiadau peryglus a ffactorau amddiffynnol posibl ymhlith plant sy'n derbyn gofal cymdeithasol.
Mae fy amser yn cael ei rannu rhwng dau brosiect cysylltu data: Fi yw prif ymchwilydd prosiect a ariennir gan HCRW, wedi'i leoli yn CASCADE (3 diwrnod) ac am weddill yr wythnos, rwy'n gyflogedig ym Mhrifysgol Abertawe (dydd Llun a dydd Mawrth).

Ymchwil
Mae fy ymchwil hyd yma wedi canolbwyntio ar gyfiawnder cymdeithasol ac anghydraddoldeb. Yn deillio o gefndir rhyngddisgyblaethol, tueddodd hyn ganolbwyntio ar ddefnyddio data arferol i gefnogi datblygiad y sylfaen dystiolaeth i sicrhau newidiadau mewn polisi ac ymarfer.
Prosiect Cyfredol:
Cysylltu data arolygon a gweinyddol i wella dealltwriaeth o ymddygiadau peryglus a ffactorau amddiffynnol posibl mewn plant sy'n derbyn gofal cymdeithasol: Astudiaeth ddichonoldeb (Ebrill 2022 i Fawrth 2027)
Bydd y Gymrodoriaeth hon a ariennir gan Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru yn defnyddio data o'r Arolwg Iechyd a Lles Ysgolion a gynhaliwyd gan y Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Iechyd Ysgolion (SHRN) i ymchwilio i gyfranogiad pobl ifanc mewn ystod o ymddygiadau 'peryglus' gan gynnwys ysmygu, yfed, defnyddio cyffuriau, triwantu, gwahardd, bwlio/cael eu bwlio, secstio ac iechyd rhywiol. Drwy gysylltu ymatebion â data gwasanaethau cymdeithasol, addysg ac iechyd a gesglir fel mater o drefn ym Manc Data SAIL, mae'r prosiect yn ceisio gwella dealltwriaeth o batrymau cyfranogiad yn yr ymddygiadau hyn ymhlith y rhai sy'n derbyn gofal a chymorth gan wasanaethau cymdeithasol o'u cymharu â'u cyfoedion, a'r ffactorau amddiffynnol posibl. Yn arbennig, drwy gysylltu â gwasanaethau cymdeithasol a data llysoedd teulu mae cyfle i ymgymryd â dull mwy cydlynol a rhyngblethol yn hytrach na thrin plant sy'n derbyn gofal fel grŵp homogenaidd.
Prosiectau blaenorol:
Plant sy'n derbyn gofal yn y system cyfiawnder ieuenctid (Hydref 2020 - Chwefror 2023)
Roedd y prosiect hwn a ariannwyd gan Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru yn canolbwyntio ar nodi lle mae cyfleoedd i drawsnewid cyfleoedd bywyd pobl ifanc trwy ddarparu cymorth amlasiantaeth priodol ac amserol ar 'fannau cyfyng' tra'n cael eu goruchwylio gan y gwasanaeth troseddau ieuenctid.
Mabwysiadodd y prosiect ddull dulliau cymysg sy'n cyfuno gweithgareddau cyfranogol sy'n seiliedig ar y celfyddydau gyda thechnegau ystadegol newydd i gael mewnwelediad am brofiadau'r rhai sydd â graddau amrywiol o brofiad o'r system cyfiawnder ieuenctid a gofal. Roedd elfennau meintiol yr ymchwil yn defnyddio technegau cysylltu data i gysylltu data o'r broses asesu risg a ddefnyddiwyd tan yn ddiweddar o fewn y system cyfiawnder ieuenctid ledled Cymru a Lloegr gyda data arferol o iechyd, gwasanaethau cymdeithasol ac addysg.
O ystyried y nifer fach o is-garfaniau ac angen gwella'r potensial i gael gwybod am grwpiau lleiafrifol, gwnaed dadansoddiad mewn fframwaith Bayesaidd.
Nadroedd ac Ysgolion: Datblygu teclyn hyfforddi i'w ddefnyddio yn y system cyfiawnder ieuenctid (Ebrill 2021 - Gorffennaf 2022)
Nod y prosiect 12 mis hwn oedd datblygu teclyn hyfforddi ar-lein/digidol sy'n cynrychioli taith person ifanc drwy'r system cyfiawnder ieuenctid, gan gynnwys yr heriau amrywiol y gallent eu hwynebu. Fe'i hariannwyd ar y cyd gan Gyfrif Cyflymydd Effaith ESRC ac arian gan Wasanaeth Cyfiawnder Ieuenctid ac Ymyrraeth Gynnar Castell-nedd Port Talbort.
Arall
Rhwng mis Medi 2019 a mis Mawrth 2020, cefais secondiad i CASCADE lle bûm yn gweithio ar gam cyntaf y prosiect Llety Diogel fel rhan o weithgareddau'r Ganolfan o dan raglen Beth sy'n Gweithio i Ofal Cymdeithasol Plant . Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn roeddwn yn rhan o'r tîm ymchwil yn ymchwilio i gefndiroedd a chanlyniadau pobl ifanc a gyfeiriwyd at lety diogel yn Lloegr. Defnyddiodd yr astudiaeth setiau data gweinyddol cysylltiedig i gymharu cefndiroedd a chanlyniadau pobl ifanc a roddwyd mewn llety diogel, â'r rhai a gafodd eu cyfeirio ond heb eu gosod. Roedd fy rôl yn canolbwyntio ar ddadansoddi data Plant Mewn Angen, i nodi cysylltiad blaenorol y bobl ifanc â gwasanaethau plant.
Cyn ymuno â CASCADE, roeddwn yn gweithio yng Nghanolfan Polisi Cyhoeddus Cymru lle bûm yn gweithio ar draws eu rhaglenni gwaith Llywodraeth Cymru a'r Gwasanaethau Pwlig. Roedd hyn yn cynnwys gwaith ar amgylch yr economi sylfaenol; y ffordd orau o gefnogi dyledwyr bregus; plant sy'n derbyn gofal ac yn fwy diweddar unigrwydd ac unigedd cymdeithasol.
Bywgraffiad
Cyn dychwelyd i'r byd academaidd, gweithiais mewn rolau dadansoddol mewn ystod o sefydliadau sector cyhoeddus gan ddefnyddio data awdurdod lleol, yr heddlu ac iechyd. Ar hyn o bryd rhennir fy amser rhwng dau brosiect cysylltu data.
