Trosolwyg
Rwy'n Ddarlithydd mewn Triboleg yng ngrŵp ymchwil Systemau a Strwythurau Cynaliadwy Prifysgol Caerdydd.
Triboleg yw'r astudiaeth o gysylltiadau symudol (er enghraifft cyswllt rhwng dannedd gêr, neu rhwng olwyn a rheilffordd) a mecanweithiau ffrithiant, iro a gwisgo. Fy mhrif weithgareddau yn y maes hwn yw:
- Ymchwil i ddefnyddio technegau Allyriadau Acwstig i roi mewnwelediad i fecanweithiau iro gêr a gwisgo. Bydd hyn yn helpu i ddatblygu methodolegau monitro iechyd ar gyfer trosglwyddiadau gêr gwerth uchel (er enghraifft y rhai a geir mewn tyrbinau gwynt).
- Ehangu gallu meddalwedd efelychu offer o'r radd flaenaf Prifysgol Caerdydd. Mae hyn wedi cael ei ddatblygu dros sawl degawd gan ymchwilwyr olynol. Mae'n darparu modelu penderfynol o'r amodau iro mewn gerau llwythog iawn lle mae effeithiau garwedd wyneb yn bwysig.
- Yr astudiaeth o driboleg elastomer, yn benodol, y ffactorau sy'n effeithio ar berfformiad morloi dynamig o-modrwyau. Dechreuwyd y diddordeb hwn gan brosiect yn ymchwilio i fethiant morloi o-gylch a ddefnyddir mewn offer trosglwyddo foltedd uchel.
- Cydweithio â diwydiant i gynnal profion tribolegol pwrpasol. Mae hyn yn aml yn cynnwys dylunio rigiau a gweithdrefnau prawf newydd. Mae partneriaid diwydiannol blaenorol wedi cynnwys busnesau newydd bach yn ogystal â chwmnïau mawr fel SKF, Rolls Royce a'r Grid Cenedlaethol.
