Ymchwil
Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil yn bennaf yng ngherddoriaeth Prydain ers 1900 ac mae fy ngwaith yn canolbwyntio ar ddadansoddi cerddoriaeth, dehongli, astudiaethau braslunio, lle a thirwedd, ac agweddau ar fywgraffiad, cyd-destun a hunaniaeth genedlaethol. Rwyf wedi cyd-olygu llyfrau ar gyfer Gwasg Prifysgol Caergrawnt ar Peter Maxwell Davies (2009), Michael Tippett (2013) a Harrison Birtwistle (2015). Mae cyhoeddiadau eraill yn cynnwys Peter Maxwell Davies, Selected Writings (CUP, 2017), The Music of Peter Maxwell Davies (Boydell & Brewer, 2020) a phennod yn A History of Welsh Music (CUP, 2022). Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n gweithio ar lyfr wedi'i olygu yn ymwneud â symffoni Prydain ac Iwerddon ers 1900 (CWPAN, sydd ar ddod yn 2025).
Addysgu
Gan redeg ochr yn ochr â'm gweithgareddau ymchwil, mae gen i ddiddordeb proffesiynol ym mhob maes addysg ar lefel AU, yn enwedig mewn perthynas â gwella'r profiad addysgol i ddysgwyr, archwilio dulliau gwahanol o asesu, gwella adborth i fyfyrwyr, prosesau sicrhau ansawdd ac addysg wedi'i gwella gan dechnoleg. Rwyf wedi dyfeisio, gweithredu a chynnal prosiectau a rhaglenni ar raddfa fawr, ac mae gen i brofiad rheoli arweinyddiaeth a lefel uwch sylweddol hefyd.
Rwy'n Uwch Gymrawd yr Academi Addysg Uwch (SFHEA) ac mae gen i Dystysgrif Ôl-raddedig mewn Addysgu a Dysgu Prifysgolion (PCUTL).
Bywgraffiad
Rwyf wedi graddio o Brifysgol Caerdydd (BMus 1994, MMus 1995), lle dyfarnwyd PhD i mi (yn 1999) am astudiaeth ddadansoddol o Drydedd Symffoni Syr Peter Maxwell Davies a phortffolio o gyfansoddiadau gwreiddiol. Rhwng 2005 a 2007, roeddwn yn Ddarlithydd Cerddoriaeth ac yn Ddirprwy Gadeirydd y rhaglen MA mewn Cerddoriaeth yn Y Brifysgol Agored, ac o 2008 i 2017, fe wnes i gydlynu rhaglen y Dyniaethau yn Is-adran Addysg Broffesiynol a Pharhaus Prifysgol Caerdydd.
