Ymchwil
Dyfarnwyd PhD yn y Gyfraith i Rob ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd yn 2017. Roedd ei draethawd ymchwil, The Hybrid System: Imprisonment and Devolution in Wales, yn siartio ymddangosiad Cymru fel man troseddegol amlwg o fewn y system Cymru a Lloegr a oedd unwaith yn 'unffurf'. Ar ôl mapio'r trefniadau cwbl wahanol sy'n nodweddu gweithrediad y system garchardai yng Nghymru ar ôl datganoli, tynnodd ymchwil Rob sylw at y cymhlethdodau a'r anawsterau ymarferol sy'n codi oherwydd y 'ymyl iasol' rhwng swyddogaethau cyfiawnder heb eu datganoli a meysydd polisi cymdeithasol eraill (sydd wedi'u datganoli).
Ers cwblhau ei PhD yn 2017, mae Rob wedi cyhoeddi nifer o allbynnau gan gynnwys cyhoeddiadau academaidd yn ogystal â chyfres o adroddiadau ymchwil gyda'r nod o ddatblygu dealltwriaeth fwy manwl, feirniadol ac awdurdodol o system cyfiawnder troseddol Cymru. Yn 2022, cyhoeddwyd The Welsh Criminal Justice System: On the Jagged Edge gan Wasg Prifysgol Cymru. Cafodd y llyfr ei gyd-ysgrifennu ochr yn ochr â'r Athro Richard Wyn Jones ac mae'n darparu adroddiad academaidd cyntaf System Cyfiawnder Troseddol Cymru.
