Bywgraffiad

Before joining Cardiff University, Eshrar was a Research Officer in the Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Bath University working for the HEMPSEC project. The HEMPSEC Project was aimed at expanding the market for a pre-fabricated, pre-dried panelised system of Hemp-lime construction. It assures high quality construction, rapid on-site erection, optimal hygrothermal performance and results in energy and resource efficient buildings.

Eshrar obtained his professional Bachelor of Architecture award from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1999. Between 2000 and 2002, Eshrar worked as a junior architect in Bangladesh.

Eshrar completed his first MSc in Architecture: Advanced Environmental and Energy Studies ( Centre for Alternative Technology and UEL) in 2003. Between 2004 and 2008, Eshrar was involved in numerous architectural design projects in the UK.

Eshrar obtained his second MSc in Planning Practice and Research from Cardiff University in 2009. Eshrar was awarded a PhD studentship by the Technology Strategy Board (TSB) and the industrial partners in the same year. He has completed his PhD on ‘Hygrothermal performance of hemp based thermal insulation materials in the UK’ in November 2013.

Eshrar was  awarded a certificate in ‘A systems approach to product and service design’ from Cornell University, College of Engineering in 2010.

Eshrar is also a Certified Passive House Designer and a LEED Green Associate.
