Cymrawd Ymchwil, DECIPHer
Trosolwyg
Mae gan Dr Sara Long (PhD) ddiddordeb mewn gwella canlyniadau iechyd, lles ac addysg plant a phobl ifanc. Mae hi wedi arwain prosiectau ymchwil ar sawl prif flaenoriaeth polisi sy'n cwmpasu iechyd y cyhoedd, gwyddorau cymdeithasol, addysg, seicoleg a meddygaeth.
Cwblhaodd Sara ei hastudiaethau doethurol yn 2013 mewn Seicoleg a Maeth. Roedd ei hastudiaethau yn canolbwyntio ar effeithiau maeth ar ganlyniadau seicolegol, ac ar ffactorau cymdeithasol-ecolegol sy'n dylanwadu ar ddewis bwyd a bwyta'n iach. Ers hynny, mae hi wedi arwain ac wedi cyfrannu at ystod o brosiectau ymchwil iechyd cyhoeddus mawr, gyda ffocws penodol ar iechyd a lles ysgolion. Yn fwyaf diweddar, mae hi'n arwain gwerthusiad gweithredu o fenter bolisi fawr sy'n dwyn ynghyd gwyddorau cymdeithasol, bwyd a maeth ysgol a seicoleg dewis bwyd. Mae Sara wedi dysgu ym mhrifysgolion Cymru ers dros 15 mlynedd ym meysydd iechyd y cyhoedd, gwyddorau cymdeithasol, addysg, seicoleg a meddygaeth.
Mae gan Dr Long hanes mewn ymchwil ynghylch ymddygiadau a chanlyniadau iechyd, ond mae'n gwerthfawrogi na ellir datrys y materion yr ydym yn eu hwynebu fel cymdeithas trwy ganolbwyntio ar benderfynyddion ar lefel unigol yn unig. Yn hytrach, mae'n rhaid i ni gymryd ymagwedd systemau cymhleth a cheisio deall penderfynyddion iechyd, ymddygiadau a chanlyniadau trwy sawl lefel ac ongl – economaidd, gwleidyddol, sefydliadol, cymdeithasol, teuluol, ac yn olaf unigol – ac yn arbennig, yn arbennig o bwysig yw'r rhyngweithiadau rhwng y lefelau hyn.
