Trosolwyg
Rwy'n hanesydd o grefydd fodern gynnar, gyda diddordeb arbennig mewn enw da - sut y daeth pobl i gael eu hystyried yn wrachod eithriadol o ddrygionus neu'n saint eithriadol o ddeifiol, rhyfeddol. Rwyf wedi ysgrifennu'n eang ar y Diwygiad Catholig a'r gwrach-helfa fodern gynnar, dau bwnc a ddaeth ynghyd gan fy "nghariad" cyntaf, y Jeswit Martin Delrio o'r unfed ganrif ar bymtheg a ysgrifennodd waith dylanwadol o ddemonoleg. Mae fy llyfr nesaf The Basque Witch-Hunt: A Secret History yn archwilio un o helfeydd gwrach mwyaf enwog Ewrop a bydd yn ymddangos ym mis Hydref 2024.

Addysgu
Yn bennaf, rwy'n hanesydd o grefydd fodern gynnar. Gyda'm cydweithiwr canoloesol Paul Webster, rwy'n addysgu modiwl newydd ar Hanes y Goruwchnaturiol sy'n edrych yn hir ar sut roedd Cristnogion yn gweld ac yn ymgysylltu â digwyddiadau a chreaduriaid goruwchnaturiol, o wyrthiau i wrachod a bleiddiaid. Rwyf hefyd yn addysgu modiwl datblygedig yn y drydedd flwyddyn ar yr helfa wrachod fodern gynnar.
Bywgraffiad
Rwy'n Ddarllenydd mewn Hanes Modern Cynnar ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Rwy'n drawsblaniad damweiniol iawn, yn y DU ac yng Nghymru ond yn hapus i alw'r ddau le yn gartref.
Deuthum i Brydain gyntaf fel myfyriwr graddedig gwadd yng ngwanwyn 2006. Arhosais wedyn i gwblhau ail radd meistr, y gwnes i ennill rhagoriaeth ar ei chyfer, a doethuriaeth (dan oruchwyliaeth Robin Briggs) ym Mhrifysgol Rhydychen. Cefnogwyd fy astudiaethau graddedig gan yr AHRC, Comisiwn Fullbright, y Gymdeithas Hanesyddol Frenhinol, ac Ysgoloriaeth Ewropeaidd Scatcherd o Brifysgol Rhydychen. Yn ystod fy ndoethuriaeth cynhaliais gymrodoriaethau ymweld ym Mhrifysgol Princeton a Cornell yn yr Unol Daleithiau.
Ar ôl cwblhau fy PhD yn gynnar yn 2011, cynhaliais nifer o swyddi addysgu ac ymchwil dros dro, cyn symud i Gaerdydd ym mis Ionawr 2016.
