Trosolwyg
Rwy'n Ddarlithydd mewn Ystadegau Meddygol yn Ysgol Deintyddiaeth Caerdydd ers mis Tachwedd 2017. Fy nghefndir yw Bioleg ac mae fy niddordebau ailchwilio blaenorol ar Ecoleg Seabird. Trwy fy ngyrfa ymchwil, datblygais ddiddordeb mewn Ystadegau ac rwyf hefyd wedi dod yn angerddol am addysgu ac addysgeg.
Mae gen i ystod eang o ddiddordebau ymchwil mewn Bioleg, Meddygaeth a Deintyddiaeth, ac rwy'n mwynhau cymhwyso dulliau ystadegol i wahanol gyd-destunau a heriau. Rwy'n cydweithio'n eang yn yr Ysgol, y Brifysgol ac yn allanol. Rwy'n rhan o rwydwaith Burwalls ar gyfer Athrawon Ystadegau yn y Gwyddorau Iechyd a Bywyd.
Rwy'n Gadeirydd cangen UCU Caerdydd ac yn gynrychiolydd adrannol ar gyfer yr Ysgol Ddeintyddiaeth.

Ymchwil
Ymchwil Deintyddol
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n cymryd rhan mewn prosiectau ymchwil amrywiol ar siapiau wyneb gan ddefnyddio'r garfan ALSPAC. Rwyf hefyd yn datblygu ymchwil ar estheteg deintyddol, iechyd meddwl ac economeg gymdeithasol.
I gael trosolwg o fy mhrosiectau ymchwil llawn, gan gynnwys ar ecoleg adar môr, ewch i'm proffiliau LinkedIn neu Research Gate .
Ymchwil addysgeg
Mae fy niddordebau ymchwil addysgeg yn canolbwyntio ar ymchwilio i ffyrdd effeithiol o addysgu sgiliau meintiol yn y gwyddorau biolegol a meddygol. Mae gennyf ddiddordeb arbennig hefyd yn effaith dewis meddalwedd ystadegol yn y canfyddiadau, ymgysylltu a dealltwriaeth o statisitcs, ac yn addysgu a dysgu o werthoedd p a phrofion arwyddocâd a'u dehongliadau.
Addysgu
I teach medical statistics to undergraduates dentists (BDS) and post-graduates in orthodontic dentistry (Orthodontics MScD). I am also involved in statistics support to staff and post-graduates across the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. I thoroughly enjoy teaching and I am a great admirer of educators such as John Dewey, Paulo Freire and Bell Hooks. I was greatly honoured to be nominated for two Enriching Student Life Awards in 2016 (Most Effective Teacher and Most Uplifting Staff Member).
Bywgraffiad
Rwy'n fiolegydd yn ôl cefndir. Dros y blynyddoedd, datblygais ddiddordeb cryf mewn Ystadegau, i ddechrau yng nghyd-destun fy niddordebau ymchwil mewn ecoleg adar môr ac yn ddiweddarach fel athro. Rwyf wedi darlithio Ystadegau (gyda llawer o bleser) ers 2013, yn gyntaf yn Ysgol y Biowyddorau Caerdydd ac, ers mis Tachwedd 2017, yn Ysgol Deintyddiaeth Caerdydd.
Rwy'n wreiddiol o Bortiwgal a symudais i Gaerdydd yn 2006 i wneud PhD ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd ar ymddygiad bwydo mudo petreli storm Ewropeaidd Hydrobates pelagicus yng ngoleuni newid hinsawdd. Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn, roeddwn eisoes yn ymwneud â chefnogi ystadegau'r israddedigion a oedd yn addysgu yn Ysgol y Biowyddorau.
Cyn symud i'r DU, gweithiais fel Swyddog Gwyddonol yn A ROCHA Portugal, sefydliad amgylcheddol Cristnogol yn Ne Portiwgal.
Wrth weithio yn A ROCHA, gwnes i radd MSc, ym Mhrifysgol Coimbra, ar ecoleg a chadwraeth albifronau Sternula Little Terns Sternula.
Gwnes i radd Bioleg bum mlynedd ym Mhrifysgol Coimbra, lle fy mhrif ddiddordebau oedd esblygiad ac ymddygiad anifeiliaid. Ar gyfer fy mhrosiect blwyddyn olaf, treuliais flwyddyn ar ynys fechan oddi ar Ynys Graciosa ar archipelago Azores, yn astudio petrelau storm, lle darllenais fy llyfr Ystadegau cyntaf: "Statistics for Ornithologists" gan J. Fowler a L. Cohen.
