Ymchwil
Mae gen i ddiddordeb ymchwil eang mewn mathemateg gymhwysol a chyfrifiannol yn y rhyngwyneb rhwng gwyddorau ffisegol a naturiol. Mae fy arbenigedd mewn mecaneg gadarn sylfaenol a dealltwriaeth fathemategol o ddeunyddiau meddal, gan gynnwys modelu amlraddfa, dadansoddi taleithiau cyfyng, optimeiddio a mesur ansicrwydd.
Arweiniais brosiectau ymchwil a ariennir yn allanol ar solidau cellog a systemau aml-gorff gyda chymwysiadau i feinweoedd biolegol a mater meddal, a gwnes gyfraniadau at hydwythedd stocastig, sy'n faes sy'n datblygu'n gyflym ar flaen y gad o ran ymchwil ryngddisgyblaethol mewn mecaneg continwwm.
Fy monograff ymchwil, "Elasticity stochastic: A Nondeterministic Approach to the Nonlinear Field Theory", Springer, 2022, yw'r llyfr cyntaf i gyfuno elastigedd straen mawr sylfaenol a theorïau tebygolrwydd. Ei nod yw gwneud y ddwy ddamcaniaeth yn hygyrch i wyddonwyr sy'n dymuno ymgorffori meintioli ansicrwydd mewn astudiaethau ffenomenolegol o ddeunyddiau meddal. Mae'n llyfr modern sy'n ymdrin â phynciau ymchwil clasurol a mwy datblygedig.
Maes pwysig yn fy ngwaith yw modelu mathemategol elastomers crisial hylifol (LCEs). Mae'r rhain yn ddeunyddiau amlswyddogaethol datblygedig sy'n cyfuno hydwythedd â threfn gyfeiriadol. Yn benodol, mae straenau mecanyddol yn arwain at newidiadau mewn trefn crisialog hylifol ac mae newidiadau yn y drefn gyfeiriadol yn cynhyrchu straen a straeniau mecanyddol. Oherwydd eu hymatebion deunydd cymhleth ym mhresenoldeb symbyliadau naturiol fel meysydd gwres, golau, trydan neu fagnetig, mae LCEs yn addas ar gyfer ystod eang o gymwysiadau mewn gwyddoniaeth, gweithgynhyrchu ac ymchwil feddygol. Dechreuais fy nhaith fathemategol fel myfyriwr israddedig ym Mhrifysgol Bucharest, Romania. Yn ddiweddarach fe wnes i barhau â'm hastudiaethau gyda Rhan III o'r Tripos Mathemategol ym Mhrifysgol Caergrawnt, y DU, a ariannwyd gan Ysgoloriaeth Canmlwyddiant Shell llawn a ddyfarnwyd gan Shell Group ac Ymddiriedolaeth Prifysgol Caergrawnt. Yn 2005, enillais fy PhD am ymchwil mewn dadansoddi rhifiadol o Brifysgol Durham, y DU. Yna ehangais fy arbenigedd fel ymchwilydd ôl-ddoethurol ym Mhrifysgolion Strathclyde, Caergrawnt, a Rhydychen, gan ganolbwyntio ar fathemategwyr a mecaneg solidau, lle roedd angen i fathemategwyr arbenigo yn y maes rhyngddisgyblaethol allweddol hwn.
