Diddordebau Ymchwil
Mae fy ngwaith yn ymwneud â'r cyfryngau a chrefydd ac, yn fwy penodol, y cyfryngau newyddion a Mwslemiaid ym Mhrydain. Lle mae llawer o'r ysgoloriaeth yn y maes hwn yn archwilio cynnwys newyddion, rwy'n rhoi sylw i'r cyd-destun y mae'r newyddion yn cael ei greu ynddo. Mae gen i ddiddordeb mewn dadansoddi cynhyrchu cyfryngau, dulliau ymchwil ansoddol, perthnasoedd newyddiadurol, ac amrywiaeth yn yr ystafell newyddion. Yn sail i'r diddordebau hyn mae sylw cymdeithasegol i'r cysylltiad rhwng adnabyddiaeth grefyddol a phroffesiynol newyddiadurwyr yn ogystal â'r effaith y gall hynny ei chael ar ddiwylliant ystafell newyddion. Rwy'n dod â'r pwnc hwn nid yn unig fy sgiliau a diddordeb fel ymchwilydd ond hefyd profiad proffesiynol blaenorol, ar ôl hyfforddi fel newyddiadurwr a gweithio mewn radio cyhoeddus yng Nghanada.
