Rwy'n ffisiotherapydd gyda phrofiad ymchwil academaidd clinigol cryf. Rwy'n angerddol am ddatblygu gyrfaoedd academaidd clinigol ac mae gennyf brofiad helaeth o fentora clinigwyr a staff academaidd ar bob cam o'r llwybr academaidd clinigol. Mae hyn yn cynnwys cymrodoriaethau'r Sefydliad Cenedlaethol ar gyfer Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal (NIHR), o interniaethau hyd at ddyfarniadau doethurol ac ôl-ddoethurol.
Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio'n gryf ar iechyd cyhyrysgerbydol, yn enwedig cyflyrau sy'n gysylltiedig â gorsymudedd ar y cyd (Syndrom Ehlers-Danlos hypermobile ac Anhwylderau Sbectrwm Gorsymudedd). Mae gennyf ddiddordebau gweithredol hefyd wrth asesu a rheoli osteoarthritis, osteoporosis ac ystod o gyflyrau cyhyrysgerbydol eraill. Fodd bynnag, mae gen i brofiad hefyd o weithio gyda chydweithwyr o ystod eang iawn o broffesiynau ac mewn llawer o gyflyrau iechyd eraill.
Mae fy nghyhoeddiadau yn dangos arbenigedd eang mewn gwahanol ddulliau methodolegol, gan gynnwys synthesis tystiolaeth, epidemioleg, ansoddol, astudiaethau labordy a chlinigol.
Rwy'n oruchwyliwr gradd ymchwil profiadol iawn (13 cwblhau), arholwr (21 arholiad), ac yn gadeirydd annibynnol (35 arholiad). Mae gen i brofiad o eistedd ar nifer o baneli ariannu rhanbarthol a chenedlaethol, gan gynnwys ar gyfer Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru, NIHR a'r Bwrdd Ymchwil Iechyd yn Iwerddon.

Bywgraffiad
Cwblheais fy hyfforddiant fel ffisiotherapydd ym Mhrifysgol Queen Margaret, Caeredin yn 1994. Gweithiais yn glinigol am 3 blynedd, yn Ysbyty Treforys/Ysbyty Treforys yn Abertawe ac Ysbytai Aintree yn Lerpwl, cyn dychwelyd i'r Frenhines Margaret i ymgymryd â fy PhD. Ymunais â'r staff academaidd yn 1999 a chefais fy mhenodi'n Bennaeth Ffisiotherapi yn 2003.
Yn 2005 ymunais â Phrifysgol Gorllewin Lloegr, Bryste, gan gyflawni nifer o rolau, gan gynnwys Prif Ddarlithydd, Athro Cyswllt a Phennaeth Cyswllt Adran (Ymchwil a Chyfnewid Gwybodaeth). Cefais fy mhenodi'n Athro Adfer Cyhyrysgerbydol yn 2012.
Yn 2021, cefais fy mhenodi'n Athro Iechyd Perthynol ac yn rhan o'r tîm arweinyddiaeth ar gyfer y 'Centre for Care Excellence', menter ar y cyd rhwng Prifysgol Coventry ac University Hospitals Coventry ac Ymddiriedolaeth GIG Swydd Warwick. Rwy'n cadw swydd Athro Gwadd ym Mhrifysgol Coventry.
Ymunais â Phrifysgol Caerdydd fel Athro Ffisiotherapi ym mis Chwefror 2023.
