Trosolwyg
I'm a research associate working within the field of pharmaceutical microbiology. My research concerns biocides and antimicrobials and involves developing novel technologies and approaches to combat the spread of infectious disease. As this is a highly translational area, I collaborate with several commercial partners to drive product innovation. My most recent projects have included developing new materials for treating surfaces contaminated with bacterial biofilms and investigating the effectiveness of various control strategies to reduce COVID-19 transmission.
Besides lab work, I am interested in science communication and science in the media. I completed a Media Fellowship with the British Science Association in 2019 and participate in local and international outreach activities, including the Science in Schools programme implimented by the British Council and French Ministry of Education.

Bywgraffiad
Yn wreiddiol o Gernyw, cwblheais fy ngraddau israddedig a meistr mewn Gwyddoniaeth Biofeddygol ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd. Yn ddiweddarach ymunais â'r Ysgol Fferylliaeth a Gwyddorau Fferyllol fel myfyriwr PhD, lle cwblheais brosiect a noddir gan ddiwydiant gan ddatblygu technoleg wedi'i seilio ar luniau ar gyfer diheintio arwynebau gofal iechyd. Ar ôl cwblhau fy PhD, cwblheais Gymrodoriaeth Cyfryngau gyda Chymdeithas Wyddoniaeth Prydain, a oedd yn cynnwys secondiad i'r tîm newyddion arbenigol yn BBC Cymru.
Ers cwblhau fy PhD, rwyf wedi bod yn rhan o amrywiaeth o brosiectau cydweithredol sy'n rhychwantu maes diheintio a hylendid gan gynnwys:
- Ymchwilio i heriau diheintio a berir gan bioffilmiau arwyneb sych
- Dylunio protocol ar gyfer diheintio offeryn electronig cymhleth, i gefnogi cofrestru fel dyfais feddygol
- Asesu dulliau ar gyfer ailbrosesu PPE anadlol mewn sefyllfaoedd teyrngarwch, fel prinder cyflenwad
- Datblygu tecstilau hunan-ddiheintio ar gyfer defnydd glanweithiol mewn rhanbarthau sy'n datblygu
Mae meysydd eraill y mae gennyf ddiddordeb ynddynt yn cynnwys defnyddio bioladdwyr i wella iechyd rhywiol a dulliau o leihau'r niwed a achosir gan ddefnyddio cyffuriau hamdden. Rwy'n Hyrwyddwr Cymdeithas Microbioleg ac yn gwirfoddoli fel uwch gemegydd yn The Loop.
