Fel Darlithydd mewn Technolegau Fferyllol ac Iechyd yn yr Ysgol Fferylliaeth a Gwyddorau Fferyllol, fy arbenigedd yw datblygu technolegau gwrthficrobaidd newydd. Rwy'n arbenigo mewn goresgyn gofynion llunio heriol a mabwysiadu dulliau a arweinir gan ddeunyddiau i liniaru risgiau haint yn effeithiol.
Mae fy ymchwil yn ceisio mynd i'r afael â heriau iechyd byd-eang gan ddefnyddio atebion cynaliadwy, gan ganolbwyntio'n benodol ar leihau trosglwyddiad clefydau heintus. O wella mynediad at gynhyrchion mislif mwy diogel i sicrhau dŵr glân a lleihau'r ddibyniaeth ar gynhyrchion hylendid plastig, mae fy ngwaith yn anelu at effaith drawsnewidiol. Yn ogystal, mae gen i arbenigedd mewn canfod cyffuriau a dulliau lleihau niwed i fynd i'r afael â risgiau sy'n gysylltiedig â meddyginiaethau presgripsiwn ffug a sylweddau rheoledig.

Yn wreiddiol o Gernyw, cwblheais fy ngraddau israddedig a meistr mewn Gwyddoniaeth Biofeddygol ym Mhrifysgol Metropolitan Caerdydd. Yn ddiweddarach ymunais â'r Ysgol Fferylliaeth a Gwyddorau Fferyllol fel myfyriwr PhD, lle cwblheais brosiect a noddir gan ddiwydiant a oedd â'r nod o ddatblygu system diheintio wedi'i actifadu'n ysgafn.
Fel ymchwilydd ôl-ddoethurol, roeddwn yn ymwneud ag amrywiaeth o brosiectau cydweithredol yn ymwneud â gwella cynaliadwyedd o fewn y sector hylendid, megis datblygu diheintyddion wedi'u actifadu gan gatalydd a deunyddiau sychu diheintydd di-blastig. Roedd fy rôl flaenorol yn Sefydliad Catalysis Caerdydd yn golygu datblygu deunyddiau hunan-ddiheintio i wella iechyd mislif mewn cymunedau gwledig, ac rwy'n parhau i roi cymorth i'r prosiect hwn.
I ffwrdd o fainc y labordy, rwyf wedi cymryd rhan yn rhaglen Gwyddoniaeth mewn Ysgolion y British Council yn Guiana Ffrangeg (2017) a Normandi (2021). Yn 2019, cynhaliais Gymrodoriaeth Cyfryngau Cymdeithas Wyddoniaeth Prydain ac, yn 2022, cwblheais hyfforddiant dilysu'r farchnad fel rhan o raglen UKRI / Innovate UK Innovation to Commercialisation of University Research (ICURe).
