Mae fy arbenigedd hanesyddol yn cwmpasu hanes modern Ewrop yn bennaf. Heb os, mae fy niddordebau yn adlewyrchu awydd Adran Hanes Warwick, sy'n dal yn eithaf newydd pan oeddwn yn israddedig, i dorri gyda'r traddodiad hanes cenedlaethol, ac i gofleidio'r mudiad ar gyfer integreiddio Prydain yn Ewrop 'flaengar', heb esgeuluso gorffennol imperial Ewrop na'i chysylltiadau â'r Americas.Mae gen i hefyd ddyled i'm cyfnod yn Warwick fy hanesyddiaeth ddiddordeb. Atgyfnerthwyd y diddordeb hwnnw yn ystod fy nghyfnod ym Manceinion, a oedd wedyn yng nghanol dadleuon dros y 'tro diwylliannol' mewn ysgrifennu hanesyddol. Rwyf wedi datblygu'r holl ddiddordebau hyn yng Nghaerdydd, yng nghyd-destun adran sydd wedi bod yn sensitif ers tro i natur broblemus hunaniaeth genedlaethol a'i hymglymu â chyd-destunau traws ac angenedlaethol. Mae fy ymchwil diweddaraf ar y Llinell Maginot yn cynnwys penodau ar le poblogaeth Germanophone Alsace a'r Moselle yn y genedl Ffrengig.
