Ymchwil
Mae gen i ddiddordeb sefydledig mewn ymchwil newid ymddygiad, hunanreolaeth a lles i wella canlyniadau cleifion. Fy arbenigedd penodol yw asesu a rheoli effaith cyflyrau iechyd ar fywydau cleifion, methodolegau ar gyfer datblygu a dilysu mesurau canlyniadau sy'n canolbwyntio ar y claf, ymyriadau newid ymddygiad i gleifion a hyfforddiant sgiliau cyfathrebu i glinigwyr.
Fel seicolegydd iechyd, rwyf wedi cael fy hyfforddi i weithio ar draws cyflyrau iechyd a chanolbwyntio ar ffactorau risg ac ymyriadau newid ymddygiad. Dros y degawd diwethaf, rwyf wedi gweithio ar draws nifer o feysydd therapiwtig (e.e. dermatoleg, parlys wyneb, offthalmoleg, deintyddiaeth), poblogaethau (e.e. cleifion, clinigwyr) a meysydd ymchwil (e.e. baich clefydau, COVID-19, newid ymddygiad). Rwyf wedi datblygu arbenigedd mewn prosiectau ymchwil lleol, cenedlaethol a byd-eang; ymchwil dulliau meintiol, ansoddol a chymysg; ymyriadau newid ymddygiad ar gyfer cleifion a chlinigwyr; a datblygu gwasanaethau yng nghyd-destun amodau tymor hir. Yn gyffredin ar draws fy mhrosiectau mae ymchwil sy'n seiliedig ar ddamcaniaeth, dull bioseicogymdeithasol o ymdrin ag iechyd a salwch a gwyddor tîm amlddisgyblaethol gyda'r bwriad o wella canlyniadau a phrofiadau cleifion a darparu gwasanaethau.
Rwy'n angerddol am gynnwys y cyhoedd a chleifion a gwyddoniaeth tîm amlddisgyblaethol yn fy ngwaith ymchwil. Rwy'n mynd ati i ddilyn effaith fy ymchwil yn y byd go iawn trwy ledaenu, cyfranogiad y cyhoedd a chleifion, hyfforddiant a gwaith clinigol. Rwy'n eistedd ar Grŵp Trawsbleidiol ar Groen Senedd Cymru, gan weithio'n uniongyrchol gyda'r llywodraeth i dynnu sylw at achosion, atal a thrin cyflyrau croen a chymorth sydd ar gael i'r bobl sy'n byw gyda'r cyflyrau hyn. Rwy'n darparu arbenigedd ar sgiliau cyfathrebu i weithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol, fel ymgynghorydd PROM ar gyfer arbenigwyr diwydiant a newid ymddygiad ar gyfer rhaglenni israddedig ar gyfer gweithwyr iechyd proffesiynol (e.e. ffisiotherapi) ym Mhrifysgol Caerdydd. Mae hyn wedi fy ngalluogi i ryngweithio â staff rheng flaen y GIG, cleifion a diwydiant sydd â diddordeb mewn ymchwil sy'n uniongyrchol berthnasol i broblemau'r byd go iawn.
Fy ffocws PhD oedd datblygu a dilysu'r mesur newydd o Effaith Clefydau Dermatolegol (PRIDD) newydd i gleifion, a ddyluniwyd i fesur effaith cyflyrau dermatolegol ar fywydau cleifion yn gynhwysfawr. Cefais fy ngoruchwylio gan yr Athro Chris Bundy a Dr Nick Courtier. Roedd fy PhD yn rhan o'r prosiect Ymchwil Byd-eang ar Effaith Clefydau Dermatolegol (GRIDD) sef y prosiect ymchwil byd-eang cyntaf ar faich clefydau mewn cyflyrau croen lluosog a'r prosiect ymchwil cyntaf a gychwynnwyd gan gleifion ac sy'n gyrru mewn dermatoleg. Os oes gennych ddiddordeb mewn cael gwybod mwy am brosiect GRIDD, neu os hoffech gymryd rhan, Dilynwch y ddolen hon: https://globalskin.org/research.
Ar hyn o bryd rwy'n cymryd rhan mewn nifer o brosiectau ymchwil gweithredol a ariennir yn allanol:
- Mesur Effaith Clefydau Dermatolegol (PRIDD) a adroddir gan gleifion: astudiaeth datblygu a dilysu dulliau cymysg byd-eang (prosiect GRIDD) (GlobalSkin)
- Datblygu cais iechyd symudol ar gyfer pobl â chyflyrau croen difrifol: y prosiect SkinWise (Beiersdorf)
- Ymchwilio i ryngweithiadau rhwng newidynnau ffisiolegol, gwybyddol ac ymddygiadol mewn pobl sy'n profi COVID hir (Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru)
