Trosolwyg
Fel seicolegydd mae fy rhaglen ymchwil gyntaf yn canolbwyntio ar niwroamrywiaeth, sy'n cynnwys plant ac oedolion niwroamrywiol gan gynnwys Anhwylder Cydgysylltu Datblygiadol (a elwir hefyd yn Dyspracsia yn y DU), Anhwylder Iaith Datblygiadol, Dyslecsia, ADHD ac ASD. Mae gan fy ymchwil, sy'n rhychwantu 20 mlynedd, ddiddordeb arbennig yn y profiad o fod yn niwroamrywiol ar fyw bob dydd, modelau dylunio cynhwysol a deall gofynion mynediad i gyfleoedd cymunedol, sy'n cysylltu â'm hail raglen ymchwil sy'n canolbwyntio ar deithiau gweithredol a chludiant cynaliadwy.
Gellir disgrifio teithiau llesol fel gwneud teithiau mewn ffyrdd corfforol egnïol, fel cerdded, olwynio, beicio neu sgwteri. Mae teithiau egnïol yn cael eu cydnabod fwyfwy fel ffordd effeithiol o gynyddu lefelau gweithgarwch corfforol. Mae teithiau llesol yn cyfrannu at les corfforol a meddyliol, lleihau allyriadau carbon a thagfeydd, cynyddu rhyngweithio cymdeithasol a chreu mwy o gydlyniant yn ein cymunedau. Fodd bynnag, mae rhai pobl yn profi anghydraddoldebau sylweddol mewn cyfleoedd ar gyfer teithiau egnïol, er enghraifft plant ac oedolion niwroamrywiol, sy'n aml yn profi mwy o rwystrau amgylcheddol sy'n golygu eu bod yn llai tebygol o elwa o fanteision iechyd a lles teithio'n egnïol.
Ar hyn o bryd, rwy'n arwain prosiect gyda saith o gydweithwyr o chwe phrifysgol yng Nghymru yn archwilio sut mae plant sydd ag anableddau a heb anableddau yn rhyngweithio â'r awyr agored, gan ddefnyddio fframwaith newid ymddygiad. Ein Cymru Active TraveL ReseArch ConSortium (ATLAS) yw archwilio dylanwad teithiau llesol a chludiant cynaliadwy ar iechyd a lles a sut i sicrhau bod y buddion yn hygyrch i bawb. Rydym hefyd yn gwerthuso ansawdd mannau gwyrdd a glas a'r effaith y mae teithio'n ei chael ar ein hamgylchedd naturiol ac adeiledig.
Rwy'n dal swyddi ar bwyllgorau niwroamrywiaeth cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol, gan gynnwys, er enghraifft, Grŵp Cynghori Clinigol Niwroamrywiaeth Llywodraeth Cymru a fi yw is-gadeirydd y Gymdeithas Ryngwladol Ymchwil ac Eiriolaeth ar gyfer Anhwylder Cydlynu Datblygiadol (ISRA-DCD). Rwyf hefyd wedi cael gwahoddiad i ymuno â'r gweithgor iechyd meddwl, cyfranogiad ac ansawdd bywyd ar gyfer y diwygiad nesaf o Argymhellion Ymarfer Clinigol Rhyngwladol ar gyfer DCD. Rwyf hefyd yn eistedd ar Grŵp Cynghori Cenedlaethol Teithio Llesol i Ysgolion Llywodraeth Cymru, sy'n cynghori'r Bwrdd Teithio Llesol ar ffyrdd o gefnogi gweithredu Deddf Teithio Llesol (Cymru) 2013 yn effeithiol.
Yn ogystal, rwy'n arwain Ymchwil a Datblygu ar gyfer Therapi Galwedigaethol yn yr Ysgol Gwyddorau Gofal Iechyd, ac rwy'n Arweinydd Cyswllt ar gyfer Thema Ymchwil Iechyd y Boblogaeth, Coleg y Gwyddorau Biofeddygol a Bywyd (BLS), Prifysgol Caerdydd. Rwyf hefyd yn Gadeirydd y Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Therapi Galwedigaethol ac Ymarfer ar sail Tystiolaeth (ORiENT), sy'n ceisio cefnogi amgylchedd ymchwil therapi galwedigaethol yng Nghymru a galluogi therapyddion galwedigaethol i gynnal archwiliad, gwerthuso gwasanaethau ac ymchwil i wella canlyniadau i bobl Cymru.
