Rwy'n Feddyg Teulu a Chymrawd Doethurol NIHR Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru wedi'i leoli yn yr Adran Meddygaeth Poblogaeth, Prifysgol Caerdydd. Mae fy ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar wella diogelwch gofal iechyd ar gyfer grwpiau cleifion sy'n agored i niwed trwy ddadansoddi data diogelwch cleifion a chymhwyso dulliau sy'n seiliedig ar systemau i ddeall darparu gofal iechyd.
Mae gen i ddiddordeb arbennig mewn diogelwch cleifion, meddwl systemau, a Ffactorau Dynol ac Ergonomeg, gan ddefnyddio'r dulliau hyn i ddeall sut mae pobl, prosesau, technolegau a sefydliadau yn rhyngweithio o fewn systemau gofal iechyd cymhleth. Nod fy ngwaith yw nodi cyfleoedd ar gyfer ailgynllunio system sy'n cefnogi gofal mwy diogel, mwy effeithiol a mwy teg.

Ymgorffori aDVOcaCy iechyd rhieni wrth ddatrys plant mewn gofal sylfaenol (ADVOCACY): dull systemau aml-ddull i gyd-ddatblygu ymyrraeth gymhleth
Wedi'i hariannu drwy Gymrodoriaeth Doethurol NIHR Ymchwil Iechyd a Gofal Cymru, mae'r astudiaeth ADVOCACY yn archwilio sut mae eiriolaeth rhieni yn gweithredu o fewn systemau gofal iechyd pan fydd plant yn mynd yn sâl. Nod yr astudiaeth yw deall sut, pryd, a pham mae rhieni yn siarad dros eu plant; nodi ffactorau sy'n cefnogi neu'n rhwystro eiriolaeth effeithiol; a chynhyrchu tystiolaeth i lywio cyd-ddatblygu ymyrraeth sy'n helpu rhieni a gweithwyr gofal iechyd proffesiynol i weithio gyda'i gilydd i leihau niwed sy'n gysylltiedig â gofal iechyd.

Deall rôl rhieni mewn digwyddiadau diogelwch pediatrig mewn ymarfer cyffredinol: astudiaeth dulliau cymysg i ddatblygu strategaethau lleihau niwed
Wedi'i ariannu gan Fwrdd Sefydliad Gwyddonol RCGP, archwiliodd yr astudiaeth hon sut mae rhieni yn cyfrannu at ddiogelwch cleifion pediatrig mewn ymarfer cyffredinol trwy ddadansoddi adroddiadau digwyddiadau diogelwch cleifion cenedlaethol, gweithdai rhieni, ac ymgysylltu â rhanddeiliaid. Mae'r ymchwil yn tynnu sylw at rôl bwysig rhieni wrth nodi ac atal digwyddiadau diogelwch, archwilio eu profiadau o eirioli dros eu plant, a chyd-gynhyrchu syniadau gwella diogelwch ymarferol gyda rhieni a rhanddeiliaid gofal iechyd. Roedd yr argymhellion canlyniadol yn canolbwyntio ar gryfhau cyfathrebu, cefnogi eiriolaeth rhieni, gwella mynediad at wybodaeth, ac ymgorffori safbwyntiau rhieni o fewn ymdrechion gwella diogelwch. Mae canfyddiadau'r astudiaeth hon wedi'u cyhoeddi yn y British Journal of General Practice ac wedi ymddangos ar y Podlediad BJGP
