Mae Alexandra yn Ddarlithydd mewn Daearyddiaeth Ddynol. Mae ei gwaith presennol yn canolbwyntio ar Wydnwch Trefol a Rhanbarthol, patrymau a dynameg defnydd tir mewn dinasoedd ôl-sosialaidd o Ganolbarth a Dwyrain Ewrop ac anghydraddoldebau economaidd-gymdeithasol ar draws dinasoedd a rhanbarthau o Ewrop.
Mae diddordebau ymchwil Alexandra yn ymestyn y tu hwnt i fethodoleg ymchwil feintiol ac yn cynnwys arbenigedd mewn Daearyddiaeth Ddynol, Daearyddiaeth Drefol, Daearyddiaeth Amgylcheddol, Gwydnwch Trefol, Dadansoddi Gofodol, Anghydraddoldebau Trefol a GIS. Mae ei phrofiad blaenorol yn cynnwys gweithio fel Cynorthwy-ydd Ymchwil yn Ymchwil Data Gweinyddol Cymru lle bu'n edrych ar anghydraddoldebau addysgol yng Nghymru. Roedd hi hefyd yn Gydymaith Ymchwil ym Mhrifysgol Lyon, lle cyfrannodd at brosiect ymchwil ar effaith globaleiddio ar lifoedd diwylliannol. Yn ogystal, bu'n gweithio fel Cymrawd Addysgu ym Mhrifysgol Alexandru Ioan Cuza Iasi, lle bu'n darparu cyrsiau a seminarau mewn Daearyddiaeth Ddynol, Cartograffeg a Geomateg, Daearyddiaeth Amgylcheddol, a GIS.
Mae cymwysterau academaidd Alexandra hefyd yn cynnwys Ph.D. mewn Daearyddiaeth Ddynol a Chynllunio Trefol, lle canolbwyntiodd ar nodi patrymau a dynameg defnydd tir mewn dinasoedd o Ganol a Dwyrain Ewrop cyn ac ar ôl cwymp comiwnyddiaeth. Trwy'r ymchwil hon, datblygodd ddealltwriaeth ddofn o'r grymoedd cymdeithasol ac economaidd cymhleth sy'n siapio tirweddau trefol.

Cyn ymuno â Phrifysgol Caerdydd, roeddwn yn dal swydd Cymrawd Dysgu ym Mhrifysgol Iasi (Romania) Alexandru Ioan Cuza, lle roeddwn yn dysgu cyrsiau, seminarau a thiwtorialau israddedig ac ôl-raddedig. Roedd fy mhortffolio addysgu yn cwmpasu ystod o bynciau, gan gynnwys Daearyddiaeth Ddynol, Daearyddiaeth Drefol, Cartograffeg a Geomateg, Daearyddiaeth Amgylcheddol, a GIS.
Yn y rôl hon, roeddwn i'n gyfrifol am ddarparu addysgu o ansawdd uchel a diddorol a hwyluso dysgu gweithredol yn yr ystafell ddosbarth. Roedd fy ymagwedd addysgu yn blaenoriaethu rhoi'r wybodaeth a'r sgiliau sydd eu hangen ar fyfyrwyr i gymhwyso egwyddorion daearyddol i heriau'r byd go iawn.
Bywgraffiad
Alexandra has an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).
Alexandra has also obtained three master degrees, one in Territorial Planning and Environmental Studies at Ecole Normale Superieure de Lyon (France), another in Environmental Science at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania) and a third one in Tourism and Regional Development at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi (Romania).
Alexandra obtained her PhD in Geography and Urban Planning in 2019 at the University of Lyon under the joint supervision of Prof. Lydia Coudroy de Lille (University of Lyon) and Prof. Octavian Groza (Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi).
