Trosolwyg
Mae Georgina Santos yn economegydd sydd â diddordeb mewn economeg amgylcheddol a thrafnidiaeth a pholisi cyhoeddus. Mae hi wedi cynnal ymchwil ar drethi amgylcheddol ar gyfer trafnidiaeth awyr a ffyrdd ac ar oedi mewn meysydd awyr a thagfeydd traffig ar ffyrdd, ac yn fwy diweddar, ar rannu symudedd a symudedd fel Gwasanaeth.
Mae gan Georgina radd gyntaf mewn Economeg o Universidad Nacional del Sur (yr Ariannin), MSc mewn Economeg Amgylcheddol ac Adnoddau o Goleg Prifysgol Llundain a PhD mewn Economeg o Brifysgol Caergrawnt. Ar ôl cwblhau ei PhD, daliodd Georgina Gymrodoriaeth Ôl-ddoethurol yr Academi Brydeinig yng Nghyfadran Economeg Prifysgol Caergrawnt, ar y cyd â Chymrodoriaeth Ymchwil Iau yng Ngholeg Wolfson. Dilynwyd hyn gan Ddarlithyddiaeth Adrannol yn yr Uned Astudiaethau Trafnidiaeth, yn yr Ysgol Daearyddiaeth a'r Amgylchedd ym Mhrifysgol Rhydychen. Roedd Georgina hefyd yn un o'r chwe chymrawd cyntaf yn Ysgol Fenter a'r Amgylchedd Smith ym Mhrifysgol Rhydychen, cyn iddi symud i Brifysgol Caerdydd. Mae ymchwil Georgina wedi'i ariannu gan y Gronfa Ymchwil Heriau Byd-eang, y Comisiwn Ewropeaidd, Cronfa Datblygu Rhanbarthol Ewrop, yr Academi Brydeinig, Shell, yr ESRC ac Adran yr Amgylchedd, Trafnidiaeth a'r Rhanbarthau ar y pryd.
Mae hi wedi addysgu myfyrwyr israddedig a graddedig yng Nghaergrawnt, Rhydychen a Chaerdydd, ac wedi goruchwylio degau o draethodau hir ar bob lefel. Mae'r cyrsiau y mae hi wedi'u haddysgu yn y gorffennol neu ar hyn o bryd yn cynnwys economeg trafnidiaeth, amgylcheddol a datblygu gyda ffocws ar bolisi cyhoeddus, a dulliau ymchwil, meintiol ac ansoddol. Yng Nghaerdydd, cafodd ei henwebu ar gyfer 'Gwobr Cyfoethogi Bywyd Myfyrwyr' yn 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2020-21 a 2023-24.
Roedd Georgina yn aelod o Gomisiwn Trafnidiaeth Gogledd Cymru, a weithiodd dros 2022 a 2023. Hi oedd Prif Olygydd Ymchwil mewn Economeg Trafnidiaeth rhwng Ionawr 2013 a Rhagfyr 2018, ac mae'n parhau i fod ar ei Fwrdd Golygyddol. Roedd hi hefyd ar Fwrdd Ymgynghorol y International Encyclopedia of Transportation rhwng 2017 a 2021 ac ar hyn o bryd mae'n aelod o Fwrdd Cynghori Económicos. Mae hi'n aelod o Fwrdd Golygyddol Polisi Trafnidiaeth, Ymchwil Trafnidiaeth Rhan A: Polisi ac Ymarfer, Cludiant yn y Dyfodol, Cynaliadwyedd, Uchafbwyntiau Cynaliadwyedd a Heriau. Mae hi hefyd yn aelod o Bwyllgor Gwyddonol WCTR, lle mae'n cadeirio Maes Pwnc E: Economeg Trafnidiaeth a Chyllid, ac yn cyd-gadeirio'r Grŵp Diddordeb Arbennig ar Brisio a Rheoleiddio. Roedd hi hefyd yn aelod o'r Pwyllgor Prisio Tagfeydd (2005 i 2016), ac o Bwyllgor Economeg Trafnidiaeth (2005 i 2013) Bwrdd Ymchwil Trafnidiaeth yr Academïau Cenedlaethol yn yr Unol Daleithiau.

Interests / Areas of Expertise
Georgina is interested in environmental and transport economics and policy. She has conducted research on the internalisation of transport externalities, with a focus on air pollution, climate change, and traffic congestion; low carbon vehicle/fuel technologies and consumers' choice and modal split. More recently she has become interested in development economics and gender studies, with a focus on gender and academic progression.
